Any Chance We Can Have That $300 Billion Invested in the United States?

So we dragged them into a war they didn't want, cut them off from their economic lifeline, and then required THEM to pay the reparations for the war we started.

Now, yes, some factions will benefit. Most of the rebuilding in Iran will probably be done by Saudi firms (such as the one owned by the Bin Laden family). But even that might be a case of unintended consequences. Saudis will go to Iran and see how actual devout Muslims live. Kind of like how Arabs who went to Afghanistan to fight the Russians in the 1980s were radicalized.

We are worse off than when we started this thing.
Because of money, not paid by any American, you are still unhappy. Well, you do not manage government at the moment. The Bin Laden family as I recall were into heavy construction anyway.

Iran is making out like gangbusters....

Wouldn't it be nice if we could cajole the nations that are investing over there to invest over here instead?

I'm sure that someone will be by to highlight all of the other commitments that Trump has supposedly gotten (many that originated well before he was convicted 34 X)...why not hold out for $300 Billion more?

To put that in perspective...the state budget of Mississippi is $7.4 billion...less than 1/30th the size of what Iran is getting without lifting a finger....
You wouldn’t believe it if he announced it, so STFU.

Sort of like how American taxpayers “aren’t” paying for the ballroom. ;)
American taxpayers are definitely paying for the ballroom because they do so voluntarily and do not do so on orders. Security also is paid for by the rich since they pay the highest amount of taxes in this country.

That and the $352 million in taxpayer dollars OMB redirected toward it.

Point being we’ve heard this lie before. Now they’re just magnifying it 1000-fold.

Look at the benefits.

Ballroom built by volunteer funds.
Security needed and paid for by taxpayers.
Ballroom will be a proud addition to the Whitehouse for decades to come.
Part of the cost was the demolition expenses.

Yeah...its too bad American companies can't take advantage of the market that our military created...other nations are going to get rich off their investments. Ours aren't.
I'll bite, why can American companies invest in Iran? Your own link says they already are committed to the fund

"The new fund is a private investment vehicle, not a reconstruction or reparations programme and will not include any government money or grants, the source said, adding that companies based in the U.S., the Gulf Arab states, Asia, South America and Africa have agreed to commit financing."
