It is the English who have not heard that the Scottish people intend to remain in the European Union.
I don't see how that would be possible unless Scotland seceded from the UK, however in the very unlikely event that did happen, they might feel very lonely there since nationalism is on the rise throughout Europe, especially in response to the flood of Muslim refugees and the EU's heavy handed and impractical decisions on the issue. It is even possible that rising nationalistic sentiment could lead Germany, France, Italy and Hungary to leave. It is not at all clear the EU has any kind of future beyond being a trade association.
I no longer wonder how people form their opinions; the press and the most TV time is given over to eurosceptics. Germany is firmly behind the European Union. Middle of the road Europeans like being in the EU and its future is secured.
Eurosceptics have been predicting the end of the EU for years now, especially in the English media. These malcontents have now won the referendum in Britain but with a majority of Scottish people voting to remain in the EU. The Scots are a nation, distinct from the English. They are not about to be dragged from the EU against their expressed will and if the English Tories attempt to do this, which is their plan, they will have a fight on their hands. 48% of British people voted to retain their EU passports and they will not be ignored either. The anti-Brexit vote in Richmond Park is a message to the Tories that nearly half the British will not lie-down supine for the angry racist Little Englanders to have it all their own way.
