The sooner we can melt the icecaps the better. Then people can migrate and use currently uninhabitable lands like northern Canada and Russia, and Antarctic. There is a lot of land that can be used for farming if it was warmer.

Antarctica was once located near the Equator and drifted down to the South Pole. That's why it has oil and more locked-down natural resources than any other continent.

Earth has two polar circles. One has much more ice and is much colder and puts much more ice in to the oceans.

The key is land near an earth pole.

If earth had two polar oceans it would have no ice....

The 10 day forecast is between -70 to -87 degrees.
For March, the historical average is -63.

So - it is actually colder right now than normal.

It took me maybe 10 seconds to look this up.
