"The project that we supported succeeded," Energy Department spokesman Damien LaVera said Wednesday. So a bankrupt firm lays off all of its workers after blowing through half a billion in private venture capital, then consuming half-a-billion in taxpayer-subsidized loans, and this is a "success?" What would failure look like?

In case you hadn't noticed the Obama Administration's response to all failures is to either blame them on bad luck, George Bush...or just blatantly lie and insist they were a success.

Well, let's examine it.

Some leftists felt good about doing something with other people's money.

That IS their definition of success.

The problem was, two things. The company was badly run with unrealistically high expectations. The second problem was that solar cell prices were plummeting, mainly because of competition from China. Chinese solar companies have been driving down the prices of the solar cells for years, partially because of lower labor costs, but mostly because of massive Chinese government subsidies. If you think big government subsidies are bad over here, look across the Pacific.

For obama the Obamacare bill was a success, to me its a giant failure but to him and those who like that kind of govt stuff its a success.
