And So Trump's Trade War Disaster Begins....Port Of Los Angeles Already Being Hit Hard

Pure insanity. Get ready to see a bunch of empty Walmart shelves throughout the country....and even MAGA idiots in places like Alabama and South Carolina and Idaho will know Trump is to blame for their finanical hardship.

There is no way in hell this is going to end well for Trump or any of his brainwashed, imbecile MAGA followers who are actually stupid enough to believe these fucking tariffs are going to have any positive impact on this country.

From the Washington Post --

The number of shipping containers that arrived at the nation’s top container port last week was roughly one-third lower than during the same period last year — a sharper decline than during the depths of the Great Recession. More than one-fifth of the giant ships that were scheduled to call in Los Angeles this month have already canceled, and that number is expected to rise.

Trump’s 145 percent tariffs on Chinese goods — and Beijing’s triple-digit retaliation — are bringing a swift halt to the trans-Pacific flow of electronics, clothing, furniture, industrial parts and everything else that the world’s two largest economies exchange.

“I can’t imagine our government spending another 30 days in the current environment. I don’t think it’s sustainable. I don’t think the consumer is going to be able to put up with it. I’m not sure there’s going to be enough on the shelves for people to buy in another 60 or 90 days,” said Joseph Gregorio Jr., chief operating officer of the Pacific Companies, a provider of trucking, storage and cargo-handling services.

As U.S. and Chinese negotiators met in Switzerland over the weekend for talks aimed at cooling trade tensions, dockworkers were working fewer hours. Truckers who haul containers full of goods to and from the port have begun handing their keys to the bank rather than making payments on surplus vehicles.

After rising in April by about 5.5 percent, L.A.’s container imports this month are expected to plunge by 25 percent. The abrupt adjustment playing out here offers a glimpse of the costs involved in moving from a global trading system that the president says routinely cheated Americans to the “Golden Age” he promises.

You're a little late to the ball game. You lefturds been claiming that sky's been falling for a couple of weeks now......and yet stuff is still getting delivered

One small problem. The Orange Cheeto says this but there has been no announcement directly from China. I'll believe it when both sides agree not just one lying POS Orange Cheeto.
China confirmed it. Oops.

Enjoy your delusions for a few hours....until the full details come out and we find out this deal benefits China more than the U.S.
Think about it, ace. Trump was the one who established the tough terms. Why would he then make a bad deal? You're confusing Trump with the incompetent who got rolled by every dictator on every deal. Trump is an expert negotiator through his 50 years in business. 0bama was a zero with no useful experience of any kind.

Lol, that has more to do with California's economic climate than with Trump's tariffs.

CA has been economically hostile for a long, long time.

And today your rant just went south

US tariff on China is 30%, China's tariff on US is 10%, I call that a win, especially when we look at the old tariffs.

You still haven't proved your nonsense on this one. They are discussing about talking about talking about....... Nothing more. Of course, your Orange Cheeto has to try and grab the spotlight.

There is a real agreement.....for 90-days, duh.
Under the deal, the United States will reduce 125% reciprocal tariffs imposed on Chinese imports for 90 days by 115% – to a 10% baseline tariff, which matches the tariffs the Trump administration has imposed on other countries.
Trump's 20% tariffs slapped on China over fentanyl production will remain, meaning the U.S. tariffs on China will total 30% overall.

This Dem troll thread didn't age well, 24 hours later the stock market is on fire over Trump's historic trade wins!

I don't see a win here. This is all proposed and not concrete. Plus, at the end of the 90 days, the Chinese may very well hike up their own teriffs.

But we have already lost meat production to Australia and Aregentina as well as grains to Brazil.
Those are NOT coming back.

What is the trade deal, Kleetus?

Trump agrees to temporarily suspend some of the fucked-up tariffs that he started?

Trump backed down from his owned fucked-up tariffs...PERIOD.

China called this idiot's bluff.

Are you ready to eat crow, Doc? Trump is pulling this thing off and the stock market is literally taking off like a rocket! It's going to be a rough ride for the left. Their worst nightmare is coming true.

Probably because things that were ready to be sent by the time the tariffs were announced didn't have the new tariff attached to them.
