Anchorage Police Department's "Pathway to Policing" Youth Academy
What does law enforcement do? How do men and women protect an entire city? Have you ever thought about becoming an officer or working at a police department? The APD is hosting a four-day Youth Academy to expose teenagers to the field of law enforcement. In this academy, you’ll learn from the experts and participate in activities that will show you what it’s like being a public safety leader in this community. APD’s “Pathway to Policing” Youth Academy will be held June 4-7, 2018.

You must submit an application for the APD Youth Academy, which is open to any teen who meets the following established criteria:
Listen, you filthy city hall scumbag swine! "Established criteria" are not okay for directing youth in a free country.
1. Participants must be between the ages of 16 and 19
First fail. Policing is a an adult, 21+ business. Police officers use handguns and handle drunks. There is no "pathway to policing" for 16-year-olds. Most boys can smell this kind of bullshit from a mile away, but a lot of the girls are interested in getting in on the game to lock up "creepy" men.
2. Participants must pass a background investigation
Second fail. The teenage virginity test.
3. Participants must reside or attend school within the Municipality of Anchorage
Third fail. A big-city residency requirement in Alaska? Huh? This requirement deliberately and systematically excludes rural Alaskan villagers, teens, and young adults from career opportunities?
4. Participants must have parent/guardian permission to participate
Fourth fail. You need to be independent of your parents in order to consider getting into policing. Youth are forced to listen to their elders and obey their elders even if they are not setting their children on the right path.

Fail kills in law enforcement. The Chinese are superstitious of the number four, and here we have four serious fails in a field that is already lethal and deadly. Four is enough. There is no excuse.

Your "fails" might be valid if they were being invited to work as law enforcement. They aren't. "The APD is hosting a four-day Youth Academy to expose teenagers to the field of law enforcement." They are being exposed to the field of law enforcement. They are not going out as armed officers.

The same thing has been happening for decades in Boy Scouts. There have been Explorer Posts specifically dedicated to law enforcement. If I recall, you only have to have finished the 6th or 7th grade, and you cannot be over 20 years old.

What the fuck is wrong with you?

This is a totally appropriate initiative. For the stated target audience.

Are you off your meds, or what?

Are you off your meds, or what?

Anchorage City Hall, a.k.a. "The Muni," a.k.a., MUNI.ORG -- what a pretentious domain name! -- Anchorage, Alaska: The Official Municipality of Anchorage, Alaska website -- is borrowing money like they are absolutely crazy out of their minds and selling Bullet Bonds on the municipal bond market. A Bullet Bond pays back the entire principal sum on a certain date in the future, say twenty or thirty years from when it is issued. Yes, you know, "that guy" who comes to collect on the final payment. He's coming after us who are living here.

In Seattle, they are blowing a giant marijuana bong with all sorts of hookah-like attachments Renowned glassblowing artists will try to make 24-foot-high bong in Seattle with the blessing of city hall attorney Pete Holmes -- City Attorney Pete Holmes apologizes for taking pot to work and they are actually going to smoke that contraption.

About par for Alaska.

The state where the legislature last year turned policing into "catch and release".

When crime ran completely out of control immediately after the new penalty-less sentencing laws were enacted the legislature gave it careful re-consideration. But repeal but quickly buried the thought in committee. Hey, criminals vote!

There is an election coming statewide but Anchorage (city) voters recently re-elected an extremely liberal mayor imported from San Francisco so there's little hope for anything being fixed. Maybe Alaskans just like being robbed and not just by their politicians. Let the people-in-the-street in on the action! Now THERE'S "equal opportunity".

What does ANY of that have to do with the OP topic?

The only fail I see here is the clear failure you are.
