Not far from me is the oldest Live Oak known, 1,000-1,500 years old. It looks like several trees but it's actually the huge branches too heavy to support themselves touching the ground. Somehow it survived the Wild West days. Have some ancient oaks on my property too, probably 500 years old.

I've only visited the South twice, but the live oaks are truly one of the highlights; that and grits. Live Oaks grow out west too?Not far from me is the oldest Live Oak known, 1,000-1,500 years old. You can't truly comprehend the size of this sucker until you see my mom and dad standing in front of it...
