Who approves sentencing convicts for murder to death in hot springs

Summary executions just increase the chance that they'll kill someone innocent by mistake. For every 8 people we execute, 1 has been let go because they were wrongly convicted.
You made a great case for Chauvin. He is one of the 8 and damned lucky he is not waiting to be executed. And he is innocent.

Joe, even then we had so much in the way of equipment and well-trained troops he had no chance. Joe, in 1921 one was started and fizzled out. The Germans were not advanced in 1921 and horses and buggies do not need Autobahns. Even when I was in Germany, in the early 1960s, most roads qualified as country roads. I could get from Schweinfurt Germany to Frankfurt on the Autobahn but from Schweinfurt to Munich, no such luck. Now they have finished more roads. All I say and you don't believe it is what he was to Germans. You act like the Germans hated the man, but he caused massive employment. Democrats claim massive employment by them will cause Americans to love them. They don't deliver so Americans do not like Democrats.
And, ironically enough, the Democrats are the closest thing to Hitler we've ever had.
And I'm completely serious: forcing shots into people, giving speeches where half the country was taken to the woodshed as "fascists or Nazis".
Biden's speech in Philadelphia in September of 2022 was the most divisive, hate-filled speech a President has ever delivered. I've always despised Joe Biden but that night I knew my enmity towards him was well earned.

Joe.
There are an estimated 400 MILLION guns in the United States.
The ship has sailed, pal.
If you think you can prevent Bad Guys from getting guns, you're completely out of your mind. Totally.
I'll type this slowly: I will NEVER give up my guns to the state.
NEVER.
Because at that point we become a true dictatorship.
And I won't live that way.
It never has been guns. Many killers use knives. I do not recall even once Democrats calling to banish knives.

Alabama will execute a convict on Thursday that in his case he apparently never had a good lawyer. Why? The killing was by others. Who by the way were sentenced to be in prison for life. But this man was not inside with them, and he is to be executed. I am pulling for the Governor of Alabama to put a stop to this execution.

Man, 75, who has never actually killed anyone due to be executed this week

A man who is widely know to have not been responsbile for the death of another man is set to be executed this week after more than three decades on death row.

Charles 'Sonny' Burton was involved in the 1991 robbery of a Talladega AutoZone — an incident that resulted in someone dying.

Burton was one of six men to raid the retailer. He was already outside the store when one of his accomplices, Derrick DeBruce, fatally shot a customer named Doug Battle in the back.

DeBruce was also handed the death sentence, but he later had this overturned and he was given life without parole instead. He died in custody in 2020.

But Burton's death penalty ruling still stands and he's set to be executed by nitrogen gas on Thursday at William C. Holman Correctional Facility, where the 75-year-old has spent more than 30 years on death row.

I saw that story. And, if true, I would hope the Governor would intervene.
With today's science, it's inexcusable for innocent people to be sent to death. The death sentence should only be used in cases where there is absolutely no doubt.

Obama and Biden are very evil men. Obama did his best to overthrow our government. Biden did his best to put a lot of men into prison.

I hold both in the lowest possible regard.
I despise both of them.
They are nothing more than criminals.
And criminals who weakened America terribly.

He is 75 and one presumes he is near his end anyway. But the question for the Jury is how the hell can a man who is gone, be responsible for the actual killer killing a person? He was not superman.

Most of what he built was reduced to rubble by the end of the war, and the Autobahns were authorized during the Weimar period.

No, Hitler did not do any good things.

The problem is the resources wasted to carry out a handful of executions a year are resources not being used to lock up or rehabilitate other criminals. This is why Texas has a higher murder rate than nearly any other state in the country.

Criminals aren't deterred by executions, either.

If you are committing a murder you are either insane, in the heat of passion, or you think you are clever enough to get away with it. So no punishment is actually a deterrent.

If you want to address the root causes of crime, you have to address addiction, mental illness, poverty, and gun proliferation.

When it's easier for Bob McCrazypants to get a gun than his meds, you are going to have problems.
I don’t care about the root cause of crime. I grew up with criminals. The root cause is that criminals would rather steal than work. I simply want criminals severely punished and locked away from normal people for as long as possible.

When I studied the German system years ago, I wondered why not apply it to the USA. When we punish criminals, locking them up, we fantacise they are going to be reformed. I seriously doubt that happens very often. Germany constructed compounds to hold inmates who were taught courses to be used to make a decent living. So, when released, they could show up at jobs and be treated like humans again.

We defeated Germany so Joes idea to learn history is to beat them to death. I pointed out to him how Hitler to the Germans was awesome. And because of that, I had to define awesome, to the Germans. Joe does not know the true history of Germany. I would not have known myself other than I was there and took a hard look at their history.

Uh, dude, my Dad was born in Germany. Germans do not think Hitler was awesome. In fact, they will literally arrest you in Germany if you walk down the street wearing Nazi symbols.

With current DNA testing and other things, the old days of wrongly convicted people is shrinking to infinitesimal proportions.

Most convictions are secured without DNA evidence.

Cops are still corrupt.
Prosecutors still ignore exculpatory evidence.
Labs make mistakes.
Public Defenders are still overworked, and usually the lowest quality lawyers out there.

I live in a state that had to finally outlaw the DP because we were finding more cases of exoneration than successful executions.

The kicker was the case of Rolando Cruz. He was accused of kidnapping and raping a 10-year-old girl. Except he didn't do it. Another guy named Dugan did it. That guy confessed to it. The prosecutors hid the evidence in the first two trials. They then tried to claim the two men were accomplices, without any evidence they even knew each other. Then and only then did DNA evidence exclude Cruz and implicate Dugan. Yeah, Cruz was found innocent after ten years in prison.

They then prosecuted the cops and prosecutors who tried to frame him. A DuPage County jury acquitted them and then went out and had drinks with them.

Well, I wouldn't shoot somebody for that but that's because I'm a rational person. And, trust me, I've been thrust into some pretty bad situations in the past and I've never lost it.

Uh, judging by your angry posts here, you sound like someone who is probably a bad day away from a tragedy.

I have no idea what that jibberish was about.
Yes you aren't very bright and have poor reading comprehension skills.

People who think they can get away with murder don't think they'll get caught.

I won't waste my time with you today. You're simply too warped to respond to. Your head is lodged so deeply into your large intestine it's cut off all your oxygen and you post stupid things like this.

For once, he's correct: prosecutors generally have the ethics of Josef Mengele and the morals of Jack the Ripper. They don't care if they have the right person for a crime, as long as they can lock SOMEONE up.

Explain the enormous mobs of Germans around Hitler as he talked to them and told them what he did for them? Why do you shift the time Zone of when Hitler lived? You are talking of today and I am talking of in the 1930s.

Your concession is duly noted.

Stop thinking with your spleen and start using your brain.
