An alternative solution to Venezuela's drug boat problem

I'm not sure that would serve much of a purpose. That'd be like removing Biden and leaving us with Harris.

I just don't think that Peter Thiel's whipping boy would be much better as a chief executive than Trump is, TBH.

Regardless, I do agree, unless politicians on both sides start receiving some sort of consequence for their illegal acts, aside from just losing the occasional election, pols on both sides will continue to act in their own interests, and the interests of those who pay them.
Removing Don would have a tremendous effect on Vance. It would control his ability to continue prosecuting wars of choice as well as his successors.

However I agree, Thiels whipping boy sucks like most of our ruling class.

I say we should not let either Thelma OR Louise drive the car any more

We are $38T in debt

We have an annual deficit of $1.8T

The criminals in the prior Administration, during a back drop of record low interest rates, borrowed on the short term!

I think it's 2/3 of our debt now matures in 5 years or less

Instead of ruthlessly cutting programs and spending as the true national emergency that it is, we're blowing up Miami Vice Speed Boats
Yes!

It’s another wag-the-dog game.

First of all, I believe the Trump administration's heavy-handed attacks on Venezuelan drug boats was a justifiable military operation. It's pretty obvious that we had intelligence as to what was being transported on those boats. However from this point on, we should address this in a different manner. The US Southern Command should now back off of their attacks, allowing the cartel smugglers to become confident that they can continue their operations without being attacked.

The next step would be to employ helicopter gunships to intercept and capture some of those boats and the personnel on them. They are most likely armed with only a few AK-47s, but given the choice of surrendering or dying, they probably wouldn't put up much of a fight. And the drugs confiscated from those boats would show the world why we are involved in this operation.

What say ye?
It's pretty obvious we had intelligence? Like we had "intelligence" regarding the Gulf Of Tonkin incident?

When all DEA and others have pointed out for years that Mexico and China are the prime movers for Fentanyl, and that Colombia and others besides Venezuela are prime movers for cocaine, I wonder where this magical intelligence came from?

In 1973 The Pentagon Papers showed the Pentagon had been packing sand up everybody's ass including congress for years about "intelligence" in Vietnam. Then we found out the same about Iraq and WMD, then Afghanistan. Is that intelligence they got from the USS Liberty? I doubt it.

No POTUS has ever succeeded in stopping the flow of black market products. In the process, countless soldiers have become involved in the trade. Think Serpico and Gary Webb. The CIA has been in the dope business since its inception.

Do Donald and Pete have some Magic Wand hidden away, or are they just spreading bullshit like all those before them?

You bring those people to a court and the court will release them. For US Navy has no legal right to arrest drug-traffikers in Venezuela's boats in high seas.

I wasn't suggesting they arrest them. The purpose of capturing them is to confiscate the drugs and put them on display.

Let's put this whole notion to rest that they're just poor, innocent fishing boats. What better proof would there possibly be that Venezuela is involved in drug smuggling?

yeah lets let criminals have a free playground

First of all, we both know, that it is not about drugs. It is about oil. At least, Bloomberg wrote that US Navy had seized a tanker with oil.

Second, traffiking drugs in high seas isn't snuggling anyway.

We don't need Venezuela's crappy oil. You're thinking of the last President, Biden, who begged them to increase their production.

What i say is you are talking Bollocks and excusing murder.

Killing narco-terrorists isn't "murder". If you're so well-informed that you have intel that exonerates those people in the boats, feel free to present it. Although I seriously doubt you could do that. After all, you're just some schmuck with an internet account, as opposed to the US military, which gets intelligence from more sources that you even know.

Go ahead and try to prove you're more well-informed than the US military. I need a good laugh today.

To avoid a Democrat-sponsored slap on the wrist sentence for any survivors and their inevitable return to committing drug offenses or worse, I would continue to blow these boats out of the water, and if the first attack doesn't get the job done, hit them again until the boat, the drugs, and the criminals are at the bottom.

You prove who they are you clown.

Yeah right, Cletus. As if some foreign leftist idiot living on an insignificant dystopian floating turd off the coast of France, one who has a keyboard and an internet connection, has more credibility than the entire US military.

Maybe you had better lay off getting your intel from the RT, the Moscow Times, and Tass. :laughing0301:

The US military has had no credibility for decades, you are typical of stupid Americans who believe everything they are told because the authorities told you, are you bloody stupid? you have not learned a damn thing since the Bay of Tonkin Bullshit and Iraqi WMD.
