American voters do not get to tell the Government how to spend money. As to how sales taxes are distributed, what matters most is the percent charged. If they set up sales taxes as they did the Income taxes, it won't help. Incomes cause enormous division. It causes Democrats to utterly hate the rich though the Rich now pay the vast bulk of all taxes. This is wrong since the rich are simply humans going about their business.
Think of it this way. When you pull up to the gas pump, in a Rolls Royce or a old Chevy, the station owner still collects the same amount per gallon. That is fair as i see it.
I think you might be on the way to converting to Republicans. I agree that income taxes are a royal scam. But Democrats insist on charging this.

What lies you spew.No one wants to destroy America. Who would want that? Us Democrats want to strengthen the middle class and help poor people more. Your policies want to destroy the poor and middle classes. Make America less great for them. All so the rich can get richer.

You have missed the most amazing revolution, engineered by Trump.
But I'm sure you miss most things.
It was another American Revolution.....led by Trump. He conquored both political parties. The obvious conquest, and the earlier one where he took the flaccid Republican Party and made it the party of the middle class and the working class. The new American Party.
But unlike the Fascist, ....er, Democrats, we on the Right don't wish a one-party system. We need two strong American parties.

That article is typical academic misdirection, bundling together two completely different groups. Notice that the scribbler mentions Rockefeller and other entrepreneurs, but not their completely unproductive descendants. I put stuff like that on Ignore.
Another example is the elitist Constitution's banning of titles of nobility, so we can't call them what they are. It is a typical meaningless change if they wouldn't ban inheritance, which is the essence of aristocracy.

My personal journey from being a Democrat for about 42 years was reluctant at first and once educated I then picked Republicans. No party on Earth is perfect. But i went for the least of the bad deals. The Federal Reserve is part of our problems. It is run by banks. They set rates and I agree that is pretty poor. If we went to sales taxes, the reserve would have little to do. Sales taxes treat me, treat you and treat all citizens as equal in the sign of the constitution. When all of us get equal treatment, we are doing right by the constitution.
Here is why you and i do not agree. I am not jealous at all what the Rich have. Wealth is more than income. Wealth is a promise to the future the kids won't collect from the Feds. Wealth causes more good by causing kids to appreciate more what they have and many are very willing to share it. Volunteer wealth to the Feds is fine. But for the Feds to rip off citizens gets me angry.
Funny because just yesterday Trump said get rid of borders "You get rid of that artificially drawn line....
I agree we should end affirmative action. White women have benefited from it the most.
