Americans have had over 200 years to prove democracy can work, but...

First, we have to care enough, and that just isn't happening. But on the off chance it did...

....we have to change a political/electoral system that incentivizes and rewards the VERY WORST behaviors of its participants. Incentives and rewards should be directed towards collaboration, communication, cooperation, innovation, so that both ends have real skin in the game.
  • Get money out of politics - publicly-funded national elections
  • Strict term limits for Congress and the Supreme Court
  • Ranked Choice Voting
  • Bipartisan Redistricting Commissions
  • Non-Partisan Primaries
Are these ideas perfect, flawless? Nope. No such thing. But they change the incentives for the system.

But again, I don't think the country overall gives a shit. We're more concerned with who won "Dancing with the Stars", and in "beating" the other tribe.

The Dems already have publicly funded national and state elections in the form of teachers unions, federal and state employee unions, trade unions, colleges, .orgs, PBS, ect.
Dems still manage to lose elections with all those votes bin the bag. Goes to show how horrible their ideas are.

A failure of a democracy is a failure of its people. Look at us! Are we Americans the stupidest people on the planet? A democracy requires agreement among the people, yet we can't even agree that we even are a democracy. Our nation appears to be failing. The only thing nearly all people can agree on is - exactly who is responsible for our failure. Nearly everyone will say "It's the Other Side!". And they have PROOF! They can provide links to mounds of evidence on the internet supporting their beliefs. The problem with the internet is, and we should all know this by now, no matter what your beliefs are or how crazy they are, you can always find supporting evidence for them on the internet. There undoubtedly is some honest, rational information available on the internet, but who needs it if it challenges our own beliefs and there is an unlimited amount of alternative 'truth' online that we can spread instead?

Without blaming "the Other Side", can anyone see a way out of this mess?

Democracy ? yes. but the founders knew that it could fail which is why they created the divisions of power in government to check each other.

One problem is certain factions of our elected and non elected leaders try to chip away at those protections. I suppose when the dumbed down populace no longer sees the importance of those
divisions of power and division of governmental responsibilities, then it all starts to fall apart.

Then what the hell are you doing here, loser? We don’t need you and no one asked you to stay. Get the fuck out.
For now I do what BLM founders and ALL wealthy dark people do…When I buy properties the first thing I do is a demographics search to make sure it’s a nice, safe, clean community.
Does that make you piss your pants? How dare I think like an intellectual being would…right?

I don't need to go to the internet to see who controls the Media, The DOJ, The FBI, The IRS and who wants 5000 unknown illegals per day pouring into the country. That is the Democratic Party. If you believe that to be untrue, then state your case I will read and respond in a civil manner. Welcome to USMB btw.

Our forefathers established a Republic not a Democracy, no matter what Democrats try to convince us.

True, but the moonbats have more or less turned it into a democracy. It's pretty much a democracy now. Hence the decline.

Maoist/DSA Democrats continue to claim their form of Marxist Socialism is Democracy.

I suggest you travel around the world. You will discover our democracy is a fantastic success.

On the contrary, Maoist/DSA Democrats continue to revert to Stalinesque Democracy via support for Antifa, BLM, increased illegal immigration and Blue Ghetto City violence.

On the contrary, the US is a democracy now. Unless you're saying that republicanism is the reason for its decline.

When the framers established the new government in 1789, the only place therein where the people had a voice was the House of Representatives. That's it. Nowhere else. That was all they needed for their representation.

Now their voice is every damn where. The Senate, the Electoral College, the Judiciary. Everywhere. And it's ignorant.

True in many ways, I think one of our problems is the responsibilities of the House of representatives are being bypassed. Some of our House members think their job is to be an activist or celebrity, instead of knuckling down and passing legislation as needed

Got to be careful. One side sees the word Democracy and immediately responds to it as if you had kicked the dog and screamed "Tyranny of the 51%", as if any liberal Democracy in the world is government by simple majority rule where the 51% run roughshod over the 49 %. It really is a Constitutional Republic where we the people elect our representatives through democratic elections.

Keep jailing red hats or put them in padded cells.
