Americans have had over 200 years to prove democracy can work, but...

The Golden Rule!

It still rules. And always will.
Those with the gold rule.

Once corporations became considered as individuals, it put us on the path of corporate fascism. The Dimm's receive the majority of the gold and are filling in the blanks towards perpetual power as a result.

We're trudging down the highway to totalitarianism in a post Constitutional atmosphere.

Couple of questions: Who are our representatives supposed to represent? And who do they actually represent?
The Representatives can be anyone, even stroke victims like Fetterman, or in PA the democrats even elected a dead person.

They represent George Soros, braindead or even actually completely dead.

It is a Republic by and for George Soros.

A republic is a subset of democracy, jackass.
A Republic as was given to us by the founding fathers is people voted in that do the work needed to keep the nation going. They do not have to worry about the views of the voters. They would serve a few terms as Representatives voted in y educated citizens and perhaps a term or two as a Federal Senator promoted to power from state legislators. That was corrupted a long time ago. Joe is the end result of that. Loved or hated. Democracy is what is forced on us to vote for as we are paid off by the same to do so. Democracy is not freedom. Freedom is not wealth. Comforts are an easier life. From time to time, we always know who rules in our living. And the power can ruin a life or change it.

Democracy ? yes. but the founders knew that it could fail which is why they created the divisions of power in government to check each other.

One problem is certain factions of our elected and non elected leaders try to chip away at those protections. I suppose when the dumbed down populace no longer sees the importance of those
divisions of power and division of governmental responsibilities, then it all starts to fall apart.
Yes. Our Republic worked much better in other times. Plus, the MSM has been slowly hijacked and become a fourth branch of government which has served to divide America many times over. Once we had the Internet the effect became exponential. And here we are.

A failure of a democracy is a failure of its people. Look at us! Are we Americans the stupidest people on the planet? A democracy requires agreement among the people, yet we can't even agree that we even are a democracy. Our nation appears to be failing. The only thing nearly all people can agree on is - exactly who is responsible for our failure. Nearly everyone will say "It's the Other Side!". And they have PROOF! They can provide links to mounds of evidence on the internet supporting their beliefs. The problem with the internet is, and we should all know this by now, no matter what your beliefs are or how crazy they are, you can always find supporting evidence for them on the internet. There undoubtedly is some honest, rational information available on the internet, but who needs it if it challenges our own beliefs and there is an unlimited amount of alternative 'truth' online that we can spread instead?

Without blaming "the Other Side", can anyone see a way out of this mess?
Good thing we are a Constitutional Republic then.

Electing Means Giving Up Your Natural Right to Vote on the Issues

The ruling class's Constitution established a republic, which is an omnipotent oligarchy of pre-owned politicians and is the oppositie of democracy.

Notice how all the Communist tyrannies call themselves "republics." That is not a misuse of the term; elitist contempt for the majority is the essence of all republics.
Notice how wrong you are?

Well, the Internet is a cesspool these days, so maybe be proactive about how you use it?

Our republic started to die when multiculturalism replaced liberalism as a guiding principle and is now on its last legs because multiculturalism has morphed into the most primitive form of governance -- identity politics.

In democracy the people are the highest authority. In a constitutional republic it's the constitution
In our democracy citizens have the right to change the constitution. The constitution specifies the rules we must follow to change it, but we can even change those rules. We have the authority.

Our elected officials can make amendments to the constitution we can't just change them on our own and the ones amended specify what freedoms the government can't take from us

The USA is republic

We need more citizen solidarity to overcome this. Solidarity seems impossible now that our representatives have us so strongly divided, but, if we start electing representatives capable of representing us instead of their donors and other special interests, we may have a chance.
