American killed by bow and arrow trying to visit forbidden North Sentinel Island...

Someone needs to go over there and read them their Miranda Rights and then arrest them.

Seriously, this isn't our country, this isn't our island. We or any other country have no laws governing
this island. It is barbaric and has been for centuries, enter at your own risk......illegally.
This missionary knew the risks and was concerned, but he went anyways, and he got tribal justice.

If people really are outraged in the treatment a person, show the outrage toward No Ko, and China.
There are plenty of humanitarian rights being broken in those two countries alone that are against
their own laws.
I don’t think very many people are outraged at this guy getting killed for taking a foolish risk. What I do find interesting is the lengths many posters have gone to to justify this killing, under the pretense of defending their borders, nation, island, culture, whatever... Yet here at home they get all squeamish at the prospect of doing the same. It shows a lack of principled application of morality...

We're the most powerful country in the world, with a history of allowing immigrants. They have zero power, with a history of shooting visitors full of arrows. We have a 200 year history. Theirs dates back 60,000 years. It's like comparing Somalia to Sweden.
Not really. If killing invaders is a principled decision. It’s just as righteous for us to do, as it is them.

This doesn’t really make much sense.

That’s like saying someone who breaks into your home has the right to kill you because you have the right to defend yourself from their illegal entry into your home.
Actually; it’s nothing like that...

If you tell them you are of the Jewish faith they turn and walk away. Its like kryptonite.

Yes, you'd just have to bring the Jews into it.

Such rational critical thought. :desk:

I told them I was a Jew, and it didn't stop them.

Can you imagine this church pulling the same stunt in Israel? :)

Don't get the connection.

There is very active campaign among Christians to convert Jews to Christianity.

Sweetheart, there is a "very active campaign" among Christians to convert the entire world to Christianity. It was in fact the last thing Jesus said to us before He ascended. "Go into the whole world..." Ring a bell?

However, we're very peaceable about it usually. You don't want the message, fine. I don't recommend going onto hostile islands alone like that dude did, or randomly knocking on doors these days.
When our so called "Christians" begin acting like real Christians they`ll be taken seriously. Maybe. Hating gays, pregnant teens, climatologists, immigrants, ACLU, unions, professors, Jesus` teachings, journalists, Social Security, Thinking people, etc. just isn`t Christian.

His germs could have wiped them out. What term would you use ?

Did the solo missionary know this, as misguided as he was? Did he intend it?

If so, then by golly, Planned Parenthood is ABSOLUTELY a genocidal organization.

Well we settled that.
Its irrelevant that he knew it or not. His actions could have killed all of them. That is genocidal.

Genocidal implies intent,

We can only know this once we investigate the church that is involved. This church needs to be investigated for its culpability in attempted/potential genocide.

What church was involved, Mr Self Righteous?

Check his Instagram. I think it is called The Way or something like that.

US government should take action against the church which sponsored this trip. At the very least, it was an attempted genocide.

First, no church sponsored this mission to my knowledge. The guy went it alone, which is not exactly missional. Problem number one. Second, the use of "genocidal" is overstated. And dramatic.

There's your education part one.

Well he had been planning this trip for some time and that implies that he researched it. He organised his own transport because he knew it was off limits.
If you google the name of the place there is a wikipedia link .
North Sentinel Island - Wikipedia
It says this.

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Protection of Aboriginal Tribes Act of 1956[11] prohibits travel to the island and any approach closer than five nautical miles in order to prevent the resident tribespeople from contracting diseases to which they have no immunity. The area is patrolled by the Indian navy.[12]

It wasnt difficult to find that information. It stretches credulity to assume that he was unaware of it.

I think the guy was a dimwit.

All wide eyed and bushy tailed.

Like the Mormon dudes who come over to Europe, trying to convert everyone.

Might have been Jehovahs. Arent those cults all the same ?

Also, I find it very annoying that this church is issuing statements like that they forgive the tribe. I want to be very clear, if anyone who is doing any forgiving, it is the tribe which was exposed to attempted genocide by this church.

People need to stop with this attempted genocide nonsense.

It was a misguided attempt to make contact with people, whether it was for missionary reasons or adventure, who want nothing to do with anyone outside of their part of the world.

People claiming attempted genocide are just as disgusting as the people who were likening the tribe people to animals.

Genocide is intentional action to destroy a people (usually defined as an ethnic, national, racial, or religious group) in whole or in part.

Germs from Mr Chau can wipe out the entire tribe. This guy planned and researched his trip for months in advance. Are you saying that during all his research effort, he never bothered to find out why the entry to this island was prohibited? If so, what is the basis for your conclusion?

Your own post defines genocide as intentional.

That doesn’t mean intent is proven just because someone was aware of the risk.

We know his intent was to make contact with the tribe people.

There is zero reason to believe that the intent of the contact was to commit genocide.

You are side stepping the issue.

Was he aware of the reason behind declaring this island a restricted area? If answer is yes, then he intentionally attempted the genocide of Sentinelese tribe.

You’re trying to redefine what intent is.

He intentionally violated Indian laws.

He did not intentionally try to kill a people in whole or in part.

The redefining of terms is often used by the left to convince people of their lies.

You have zero evidence or information that suggests he had any intention to do harm to those people.

He was almost undoubtedly aware of the risks involved with making contact with those people but he was likely of the belief that he wouldn’t transmit any deadly diseases to them.

From what information we have, his intentions were to simply make contact and possibly introduce the people to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Horse shit. He was most likely inoculated against all thesuperbugs mankind has encountered heretofore; not to mention your lack of curiosity as to the diseases he might contract from “them”. It’s a bullshit argument barely worthy of comment. But in your case I’ll make an exception...
