Agreed! Thanks for the picture alpine..

1. Healthcare is not a natural right.
2. Because it's not in the Fed gov mandate to provide healthcare; there is an amendment process it must go through if it wants to get involved.
Police and fire are dealt with a the local level. If they want to privatize, get rid of, or whatever its up to community they serve to decide.

If the Fed gov would use the same anti-trust enforcement standards on the healthcare industry it dose everywhere else there would be no "burning down".

Lack of healthcare is a public problem. The lack of it is "burning down" our economy. See the OP for details...my own incidentally.. I was the first one proposing this idea if you research this forum back several years, you will find that all the ideas in the OP have been mine far longer than anyone else has been talking about one or the other of them..

Lack of food, water and shelter kills people too. What's your point?

Ah...the "Great Mystery" of our dying economy...so difficult to figure out! So complicated!! In fact it's too complicated to explain so a good "complicated mystery" will keep people from probing too deep to find the solution is really quite simple.

Canada has already figured all this math out and their economy is stronger than ours as a result. They also have capitalism and free healthcare. They also require a certain percentage of assembly be done by human workers. Who knew we could have both social/economic stability and capitalism?! People who can do simple math...that's who..

Machines have to be Designed, programmed, maintained, bought, sold, installed, moved, improved, re-invented..........on and on. ATM did not kill America, less telllers but a lot more high pay jobs.

It's unfortunate for your argument that you brought up ATMs and bank tellers... I know a woman who was told, along with all her coworkers that not only have ATMs replaced many jobs at the curb, but that their job inside the bank will soon be replaced by card-swipes at the counter. ATMs are killing America. And only so many robotics jobs exist vs all the jobs they stole by being manufactured. Probably like for every one job a robotics company creates, 100 are stolen from manufacturing.

My idea is this... The feds should take over the healthcare insurance industry period, then take those corporate offices over to have the employee's work for the government as a fraud detection agency, along with an accounts managing operation for the citizens and the government ...Then tax every citizen in this nation for a healthcare card that will be issued to every single American, and it will be honored at every legitimate clinic, doctors office and hospital that will be recognized as official or is certified in the nation..... In a pool this large (300 + million strong), the cost to us per week would be miniscule. Prisoners would even have to pay in per week out of their jail or prison work pay and/or rations. Every American would have healthcare insurance, and access to the same healthcare every American in the nation has access too. Choice would lead us to re-install the rights as to where the citizen would be able to take that card and to choose anywhere they wish to use it in our lives (i.e. they can keep their doctors, and their favorite places to get their care if legit). The sales tax idea is good too, but insurance corps need to be taken over for the purpose of incorporating them into the government to use to manage the system just like it is doing today, but haven't been doing in the national interest of the nation and it's citizens.

Fire kills people. Lack of healthcare kills people. What's the difference?

(A) Both are preventable
(B) What if one of those people were you?

I'd have said "or a loved one," but someone as callous as you might not understand the term.

. Hmmm, hard to stand in the way of progress, but if it is tied to our strength as a nation, then there may have to be some review as to how weak we may become if allow to much robotics verses actual possible family strength that can produce troops to fight a war if such a war or wars should come to pass.

What do you want? Go back to when a human stood there 12 hours gluing a head on a plunger? Automation is great. Massive Great jobs are created to create/install/maintain/improve etc. all of that automation industry.

People used to deliver mail on a horse. Now they use a jeep to a box out on a road. That will be gone someday too. Wake up. It is improvement. Drones, ATM, CARS....this is not 1954 at Westinghouse.

Why on earth would you give control of an entire industry to an entity that has demonstrated nothing but incompetence.
The only thing they are good at is becoming corrupt.

Yes, because people who wish health access for all are "callous".. Up is down. Black is white..

A. Fire is not preventable when it's an accident (rat chewing a wire, other electrical short, grease jumping out of a pan)

B. What? Yes, it would suck to be hit with an unexpected fire or health tragedy. I suppose you think getting hit by a drunk driver is "preventable"?

Oh, is that what all those unreferenced words in those early posts meant? Why didn't you say so? Please describe your plan for providing all Americans with health access. That would be far more interesting.

. Who is the most corrupt? The government or the health insurance industry in which denies people services based upon pre'existing conditions, focuses more on profits than offering quality plans, charges to much for the plans that it offers along with highway robbery deductibles, denies claims based upon ridiculous criteria that is used, thus casting the claim back onto the client with no resolve or even using it to drop coverage altogether due the risk the patient may now be looked at as...???? You want to remain in such a situation or get into one that works for all ?

That's easy, the gov. They are supposed to be the gatekeepers. They can't effectively regulate the private healthcare industry what evidence is there they will be able to manage a single payer system? The results at the VA?

. You got your own solutions ? Do tell... The healthcare insurance industry duped Barak Obama and company, and they got what they wanted, while we got more of the same if not far worse than what we had 30 years ago. We have control of government by many means and/or ways, but we have no control over the private insurance industry. Our lives are at stake, and it's time for change against what has been killing us indirectly in this nation.

. Simple, the profiteering by the private insurance is taken out of it... That is what needs to happen. Our lives are not to be based upon profits, otherwise as to whether or not we live or die... Period.

Bernie Sanders is the only one on the list who would even attempt to deviate from the current course.

Why do so many people who hold this opinion support ACA, which does exactly the opposite?
