The only way to put a stop to the culture wars is to constitutionally limit what the majority can impose on the minority through government. The reason people are currently so terrified of the 'other side' gaining power is that government is increasingly unlimited. Each side sees controlling government as their only hope for living the kind of life they want.

That's the reason constitutionally limited government is so crucial, especially in the US. The only way for a 'melting pot' of different races and cultural backgrounds can work is with a basic foundation of tolerance. And when it comes to government, 'tolerance' means forgoing the urge to force your idea of the good life on other people via democracy.

Not sure about that. Everyone seems to have their own custom definition of the terms. In any case, both of the major parties have been complicit in eroding constitutional limitations. I don't see that changing until we quit supporting them.

Americans killing Americans. There's an irony. There how many thousands of murders in the US each year? Most murders occur in urban areas. Ironically, these are also heavily DEMOCRAT voting areas....And that makes conservatives look bad?
