All ship based nuclear reactors do is boil water. The contaminated steam is passed through heat exchangers to heat non-radioactive water that flashes into steam and turns the turbines that produce electricity that runs the motors that turn the prop and provide electricity for auxiliary systems on the sub. Enriched fuel isn’t necessary to boil water. Some Russian reactors use liquified sodium as a coolant, but they still boil water to produce steam.
