All 50 States Moving to the Right

Real Republicans like me have told fake Republicans like you, Mr. Reactionary, that the TeaPot shutdown of government would backfire: it did. That threatened default would blow up in our faces: it did.

The TPM will be rubbed out in the primaries next year.

Prove it....

You make statements like this all the time and you never can back them up.

You are a liar.

And your use of the term reactionary is nothing more than a way of telling the rest of us that you are in an argument with someone who is probably kicking your sorry lame-brained ass.

A reasonable person would not blame the shutdown on ANYONE on the Right and would, like the author of this piece, give the blame to Harry Reid

Jake is a fake.

Jake has never been reasonable.

You will now be branded a reactionary.

I'd have to see the analysis to believe that California is becoming more conservative.

Same here.
I believe the majority of the population to be fiscally conservative and socially right leaning moderate.
From about 2006, there has been a big swing to the left. The pendulum has reached it's left'most' position. I believe the country has had it with lib/socialist policy and is ready for fiscal responsibility.
Also, political correctness has been perhaps one of the most socially divisive issues since the start of the first Obama regime.

Obama lied to the folks, repeatedly, as part of the greatest fraud ever perpetrated on the American people. It does not satisfy most that he did it for our own good, because we are too stupid to know how to take care of ourselves. He is dispensing with the enforcement of laws in violation of his oath.

His Socialist policies have reminded the folks that a concept of "rights" which is wholly unrelated to "duties" is unrealistic.

[...]
Don't be deluded into believing Obama is a socialist. The main objective of socialism is equitable distribution of a nation's resources. By now it should be obvious to you that Obama is a puppet of the One Percent and he's done absolutely nothing to improve the depressed and declining situation of the working class.

Pay attention to what Obama does and doesn't do. Not to what he says. He is above all an artful bullshitter.

California has elected more republicans to local offices this year than in the last ten. Those were away from the coast. If it were not for Los Angeles and San Francisco, California would be red. California has the same problem Colorado has. Mega cities big enough to out vote the entire rest of the state.

Republicans have moved so far to the extreme. Not sure we can even call it "right" anymore.

Naturally that seems to shift what's left slightly right.

I see that a different poster posted an invalid link that claimed the above.

Intrigued, I found several articles discussing this.

The 2nd link has the table of how each state has shifted over the past 50 years. Personally, I'm a little skeptical about this considering how much the government has grown over the past few decades, but perhaps this means that Americans know what they want, but they're just not voting correctly.

EDIT: Fascinating thing: According to the chart, Hawaii was the most conservative state in 1964 based on that survey. Imagine that!

As a matter of fact. That is why Virginia just elected a clean sweep of Democrats to the highest posts in that state. A clear move to the right.

Or an indication that the state is ready for a split the way Colorado is. California has been toying with a split for 20 years.

It's a matter if perspective. If we designate the North Pole to be the top of the Earth, then the rotation of the Earth is from west to east. In other words, the states are constantly moving to the right because of the earth's rotation.

Won't that leave a big chasm in the middle? I think I will move there. With all those states on the east coast, it sure will be crowded.

He still has your support.

There have been so many times that people who voted for Obama sound downright conservative when they talk about issues ranging from taxes to foreign policy, yet they don't make the connection and realize that the candidate they supported goes against their views. Amazing, but true. Honestly, if Katie Couric and the other liberal mouth pieces would report the truth, people would get it. Too many go on the assumption that if it's on the news, it's the truth and if it's not on the news, it didn't happen or it's a kooky conspiracy theory.

I have several friends like that. One is an atheist but at the same time he thinks Obamacare is horrible, dislikes illegal immigration and welfare, and believes that Europe/California/Illinois are going bankrupt due to all of their social programs. Yet he's a liberal because "Republicans don't believe in evolution and shut down the government." Sigh........
What I would ask them is "what does evolution have to do with anything productive?"
They'd sit there with this blank look on their face and say "I don't know".

I read this all the time, Obama the leftist, socialist etc. His actions and appointments to positions of power show different. But the right wing on this forum have him right in there with Karl Marx and Howard Zinn. How about the new trade deal he's trying to fast track without the public hearing about it? Something no liberal would promote. Nope, they're still worried about Bill Ayers.

Have not seen anything on Bill Ayers for quite some time. :eusa_whistle::eusa_whistle:

How about a link on the trade deal. I'd like to learn more.

Sorry, I disagree ... most fervently.

Virgina has already begun to cross over into the blue.

Young voters may be turning Virginia blue
Paul Singer, USA TODAY

FAIRFAX, Va. — As an ugly gubernatorial race grinds to conclusion in Virginia, Republicans in the commonwealth face a growing demographic problem: young people.

Young voters in Virginia are a growing chunk of the state's electorate, and as a group, their politics have shifted dramatically in favor of Democrats over the past 15 years.

The question facing Democrat Terry McAuliffe and Republican Ken Cuccinelli is whether they will show up at the polls in big enough numbers to matter next week.

Both campaigns are playing to their slice of the youth vote: McAuliffe campaigned with former president Bill Clinton in college towns across Virginia this week, including Blacksburg (Virginia Tech), Charlottesville (University of Virginia) and Harrisonburg (James Madison University). Cuccinelli appeared at Lynchburg's evangelical Liberty University — the fastest-growing school in the state — with Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky. on Monday.

In 1996, voters age 18-29 made up 15% of the state's presidential vote, and they voted for Republican Bob Dole over Bill Clinton, 49%-42%, bucking the national trend. That year, 53% of young people nationwide voted for Clinton, according to exit polls.

By 2012, the under-30 crowd had grown to 19% of the state's voters and their politics had shifted. They voted 61% for President Obama's re-election, 1 point higher than the national total for their peers.

Yer kidding right?
The new governor was elected by urban dwellers who've been brainwashed into believing that by voting democrat they can keep their free shit. The counties where large universities( bastions of liberalism filled with uninformed are located also carried the Mc Auliffe. Other than those few places, it was all Cuccinelli
90% of the counties voted for the GOP candidate.
Look at the map.

These places away from the coast in california. Some counties way larger than Rhode Island but only have a few people. The repubs keep them frightened about big government even though many are poor and depend on evil socialist social security and medicare for their only income. The power of talk radio and fox news.

Here's a couple links. Quite a few democrats and some repub congressmen are raising up on their hind legs and saying no more nafta type deals. But it's still pretty much a secret and the not so liberal as everyone thinks press goes along with the secrecy.

More free shit accusations that kept Romney out of the white house praise the lord. Education is free shit to you people. Keep 'em ignorant. Large Universities? Knowledge? "Oh the horror, say the right wing.
Universities filled with the uninformed? This could be the new slogan of the republican party.

And Romney won by a landslide in 2012. LOL

No, all 50 states are not moving to the right. In fact, with Virginia going blue, and Texas on the brink of the same, it may be a while before the GOP does well in a National Election. You just cannot alienate the working poor, the middle class, most of the minorities, and scare the bejeebers out of Wall Street, and expect to win elections. Gotta have some votes other than the fruitloops and those that are senile.

This is your opinion..
The political pendulum will swing back to the right. Its inevitable.
All of this rhetoric about screwing the working poor, Wall Street, middle class, etc is just the noise of talking points.
It means nothing.
The fact is this administration has pushed the country too far. Political correctness has angered too many people.
It's over. The swing to the left is complete and things must come back to balance.

Let's see what happens in November 2014.

Congress passed under 60 bills since 2010. This is the most unproductive congress in history. And all of the obstruction has come from conservatives.

It's approval rating is at 7%.

People like dog shit better than they do congress.

So lets see how that works out.

60 laws..GOOD...The whole notion of an activist legislative branch is is vision created by liberals in support of large intrusive government.
