Uh oh, Alberta isn't happy.

...........................

“The Biden administration pleading with OPEC to increase oil production to rescue the United States from high fuel prices months after cancelling the Keystone XL pipeline smacks of hypocrisy,” Alberta Energy Minister Sonya Savage said in a statement.

“Keystone XL would have provided Americans with a stable source of energy from a trusted ally and friend that adheres to the highest (environmental, social, and governance) standards in the world with industry commitments to net-zero production.”

Yet we still import 3.5 billion barrels a day from Canada and that number really didn't drop when Joe took over. Maybe we need to diversify and not rely on one source for so much crude oil.

If I had it my way we would stop buying oil from the ME entirely. Then we can stop all the "blood for oil" ... why is it then that Democrats just hate to see us continue to explore for our own sources or build pipelines? You know we are still going to need to buy it from the Saudis anyway.

Why did it take Trump 3 1/2 years to approve it?

Keystone was set up to benefit Canadian oil and only Canadian oil...screw'em

Probably we had to work out some agreement with Canada. You cant just do things unilaterally. We were also working on a trade agreement with Canada and Mexico. Trump was also busy fighting of a rabid pack of jackasses trying to impeach him for something during that 3 and a half years.. and they were also trying to block all his appointments. It's not like he had a Democrat party to deal with who simply had the well being of the nation in mind. Would have been nice though, we could have got a lot more accomplished.

Please stop this. You were told what was going to happen if Progs took over. The inflation is ramping up, the prices of gas has gone up. Everything we do to live is getting higher in prices. And the great Progs answer is to pass bills so we can print of trillions and trillions and trillions of dollars more while the economy suffers from not reaching its potential. So we replace foundation with fiat currency and other making a buck on it.

As opposed to oil you get from Saudi Arabia? is that somehow a special beneficial deal for you?

Look, I've shared my opinion of Canadian police abuses against myself and my family. They have in effect, destroyed my life and career pursuits. I'm not going to defend the covert cretins and their offspring who have decimated our nation on a global scale. I will, however, call balls and strikes.

Therefore, as far as I am concerned getting oil from regimes that stone women to death, cut off hands for petty theft and treat women like cattle rather than creepy Canada, makes little sense to me. Economically or morally.

Now, I'm not American obviously and I'm not going to attack those who push these policies. It's your country, your election and leadership. I'm not going to pretend it makes sense though.

Trumps policies were winners across the board because he understood the principle of the butcher, baker and candlestick maker per Adam Smith. Now inflation is rampant while jobs are still being shipped overseas, your borders allow 100's of thousands of unskilled illegals a month and many in your government push for socialism.

Is this a winning combo?

China had invested 15 billion in the Alberta tar sands and was helping to finance the pipeline.

They are called trade agreements, we buy some of their stuff and they buy some of ours that is how nations trade.
