This is clearly demonstrated in Hurricane Advisories #15 through #41, which can be viewed at the following link. The Birmingham National Weather Service’s Sunday morning tweet spoke in absolute terms that were inconsistent with probabilities from the best forecast products available at the time.

At the time Trump spoke, it was entirely possible for Dorian to hit Alabama. I've lived in Florida for 30 years, and have been through a number of hurricanes. All the science in the world cannot always positively predict a hurricane's path.

In 2004, forecasters correctly predicted Hurricanes Francis and Jean, both slamming Tampa hard. They muffed it though on Charley, predicting a direct hit on Tampa. Instead Charley, moving straight at Tampa, suddenly turned east, and went toward Orlando.

Thousands of people in Tampa, drove to Orlando, to get out of the path of Charley, and wound up driving right into the hurricane.

He would have been correct had he given his warning to Alabama on Thursday or even Friday, but on Sunday he was wrong.

According to that map at the time Trump made his tweet Dorian should have been in Georgia already.

And also, he did not just say it was in the path, but that it would get hit harder than anticipated.
