The secondary reason was America's general opinion of the Dems right now.

Yes and no. It was high prices that they were looking to blame on someone and not being able to vote for a woman. First is supported by exit polls. Second is just my educated guess.

Immigration was pretty low on the priority list, certainly in swing states, and I bet overlapped with die hard trumpets. Scored about 12-14% as important.
