After Taking $300,000 In PPP, Idaho Republican Writes OP-ED Calling For End To "Handouts"

We got fucked by it. That being said both sides the isle voted for that shit. We were in a crisis while making this bad choice but come on we fucking adults let's have cooler heads before making such idiotic choices.

I don't believe the differences between Democrat and Republican are that far apart.

Hell no we are not but the powers that be get to fuck us hard when we are at each others throats. I am a Democrat who runs a business with his two best friends since they were 11 and both of them are Republicans. I spent 2 Saturdays ago in a woods with a family of 4 generations of Republicans in it with me and was the sole Democrat there. Watched one of my best friends grandsons get his first dear. I am a Democrat that is a professional out doorsman. I hunt and fish for a living. Most my clients are Republicans. Surprisingly of the other guides and captains I compete with it is about half and half with the Republicans having a slight edge. I use to be in government roads and bridges for 25 years. Again dealt with about half and half. This I have to say about charter Captains in the western basin of lake erie. The best is a chubby Hispanic Democrat. I never use up my limit on a charter. I get my 36 and back to the dock so I can try and beet Ely casting to limit. I win once or twice in ten tries. You wanna win against the best ya gotta fish against them. Some day I will take half

Is political affiliation on the app you use to get clients?

No. I do not talk politics at my current job. How ever it is public record of what party I ran under. I have found in the hunting and fishing game you provide your clients the best chance at getting limit and show them a good time politics does not come into it. To much. Of course I am holding a gun or a knife most of the day. If I do not have a gun I am normally a few miles off shore on my boat. Then there is the fact I kinda kill for a living. This may make people a little more polite.

I would imagine my clients know my political affiliations. I was in the news alot when a large bridge went in. It would have been kinda of hard to miss. I am also known to be seen with a rather famous local golfer who political affiliation is well known. This has not effected business in a negative way. The fact that I am a technocrat and not policy maker makes it easier for cross isle affiliation. Hell the guy I take fishing the most ran against me once. I found with a good golf swing and the ability to hunt and fish I made alot of Republican friends and we got shit done. Now I am living my second child hood with my two best friends and getting paid for it. I am the fishing guy, Kelly runs the deer and boar camps. Mike fixes everything and is the luckiest fucker on the planet. Never been involved in anything with that guy that did not turn to gold. I cant explain why it just is for him.

They're forgivable loans which essentially makes them grants as long as the money was spent on allowable expenses - payroll, rent and a few other things, but primarily payroll which is why it is called the Paycheck Protection Program.

The hypocrisy? Criticizing others for availing themselves of the same "government handouts" that she partook in herself and now wanting that aid to be shutoff.

If she qualified for $300,000 then she is doing a lot better than a lot of other people who own small businesses. A lot of the smaller companies were shut out presumably because the banks preferred processing applications for larger amounts I believe because they make more money that way (a percentage of the loan amount)

Don't quote me on the last part, this was something I either heard or read back when they first began processing the PPP loans.

Loans are paid back. These will not be paid back. Just because politicians called them loans for cover does not make them so.

They are "forgivable" loans. The money is loaned with the condition that they may not have to be paid back if documentation is provided to the lender/SBA that the money was spent on allowable expenses. The SBA provided a time period in which each recipient had to spend the money. At the end of that period the owner is allowed and encouraged to apply for loan forgiveness. If you can prove you spent the money as required then that makes you eligible for the SBA to forgive the amount received either in it's entirety or in part.

The money will not be paid back. Not a loan. It's simple.

The money will be paid back if not used in a certain way. But it's a loan either way. Again... Your problem is with the people who forgive the loan.. Not the loan itself.

My fucking problem is you and I get a 1200 dollar check. This fucking senstor gets a 300,000 check and we all three of us owe the federal government the same amount on the debt. The Senators did no service for the check yet his is way bigger than mine and yours check. The bank lends the money collects interest and fees on the loans. The senator gets a huge check and the federal government pays back the loan. In the end we the tax payer pays the bill. Not the guy who got the big check. I hold those who wrote the law that made this possible and those who voted for it.

The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) provided money to "small" business owners (small as defined by the SBA) to help them cover payroll expenses that occurred as a result of their state being locked down and the company losing it's ability to continue generating revenue. The program was intended to help and encourage employers to keep their employees on payroll instead of letting them go due to the company not having the funds to continue making payroll particularly in scenarios were the business not able to continue operating and generating revenue.

The only 'legit' way that I am aware of to qualify for $300,000 in PPP is to provide your bank/SBA with tax reports, business tax filings, etc. showing that you had $300,000 or more in payroll expenses for the previous year. That's what they base the amount of disbursement on. That and possibly your business bank account balance.

It's not an apt comparison to compare the $1200 stimulus provided to individuals who earned less than $99,000 the previous year to business owners who were provided money based on their payroll expenses for the previous year, so that they could keep some or all of their workers on payroll during a time when the business was not generating any revenue (accounts receivables).

Socialism. I find it funny how little people complain when a business is a benefactor but if a waitress with two kids gets some help that is somehow evil.
