Who's African American? After 300+ years, they're black Americans.
They didn't come over from Africa last generation.
I know some African Americans, they're white and speak what used to be Dutch.
Why does the term African American bother you
Seems all you see is color
It irks me because it's PC speak. Blacks in America didn't get here yesterday and are natural-born citizens, some whose families have been here since the beginning. I call them blacks or black Americans, even the redbone ones.
PS: Who conflated "Faith Healer" with "Faith Leader"?
Do you refer to yourself as white?
African American is a respectful term that tries to signify that color is not the most important thing, but to some people it's all they see
Says who? The PC police, that's who. I'm not playing that game, sorry!
I voice my opinion all the time, and you know what? I haven't found anyone that openly disagreed with me about that yet.
I think it's snidely condescending, reminding Black Americans of Africa which they have not been from for centuries, so saying "African Americans" is ******* retarded.
Like I said: I know some African-Americans, and they're white.
