There are actually reasons for both sides to hate Newsom. Those on the right hate him because he's too liberal or whatever. But, he also has many on the left who hate him because he isn't progressive enough. I think his biggest problem is (like many democrats) he's too wishy washy and will do or say anything to get votes. It's like burning the candle at both ends. Trying to please everyone actually gets everyone upset with him.
