More and more I am grateful how my 102 year old grandfather passed away. He went to bed one night, and when my mother couldn't reach him the next morning, me and my sister found him passed away in bed.

Yeah, but I'm not sure if this means anything. Mummified could just mean they were in a hot climate and drying out.

If it was a suicide or a murder suicide, you'd find the bodies in the same place. Also, why only kill one of the three dogs? Why not kill all three of them?

I think think this was a CO leak that someone missed.

Gene was 95.

I'd be very surprised if there weren't a lot of pills around.

Latest I just heard: Gene was found in a mud room and his wife in a bathroom and the dog in a closet in the bathroom. A pill bottle was open and spilled in the bathroom.

For example, the wife OD’d on the pills, Hackman found her, being 95 he had a heart attack and/or fell trying to get to his phone. The poor dog was in a crate and died of dehydration and starvation.

Obviously there’s going to be unanswered questions in a situation like this until all the investigations are complete.

I have a better theory.

Hackman died of natural causes and being 95 in the mudroom. His wife found him, and in a moment of despondency, overdosed on pills. The dog just died of dehydration being left in a crate for three days.

My guess is that when they died, they didn't remember to let the dog out first.

The other two dogs were fine.

This is very sad, if it happened the way I think it happened, that Hackman died of old age and his wife of 30-something years just freaked out and took her own life.

No. And they have ruled out Carbon Monoxide poisoning as well.
