he is trying to justify Japan's attacking the US in WW2 and make it sound like the US attacked Japan instead. One of the claims made by these apologists is that refusing to sell oil and metals to Japan was an act of war.

Actually, those planes were "Lend-Lease". Just like war material we supplied to Great Britian before we entered the war.

It became moot after we got into the war.

Nutter podcasts aside, yes, FDR was very aggressive in trying to deter Japanese aggression in China. Mostly because the Japanese were doing horrible things in China, like the Rape of Nanjing.

No real scholar has backed you up. You don't believe Americans were in China early in 1941, to wage war against Japan. It is a fact. You don't believe US war planes were sent to China. Yet they were.

Except by the time they saw combat, the US was already in the war.

The did for a fact. They arrived in China well ahead of Pearl Harbor. The only planes they flew were supplied by FDR. Perhaps you think they were there to play tiddlywinks?
