I'm seeing Hakeem and others complain about the recent Supreme Court ruling against "race based" gerrymandering.

But, most democrat districts are "safe districts", or as Nancy Pelosi says: "This glass of water would win with a D next to its name in those districts,"

So if democrats want more black House members, just put them on the ballot in safe districts. Simple.

...so why is Steve Cohen elected in a majority black district?

Some cities like Memphis are 60% black.

Are you saying that Memphis, the 2nd largest city in TN, should not have its own House district?

Of course you are...because you are a racist.

Of course Democrats could do that. But they will not for several reasons.

1) DEI is like most other government giveaways. Dems want other people to pay for it.

2) They don't want to be percieved as the "black party" because they will lose the Latin-American voters they spend the Biden Administration sneaking in.

3) They like black people's votes, but not black people themselves. They think blacks are so dumb, they can't even get a photo ID.

4) What if a bunch of Black Congressmen and women showed up at Senator Sheldon Whitehouse's beach club?

Gerrymandering happens in every state. Stop whining. You know where you can shove that race card.
If democrats want more black House members nominate them in solid democrat districts.

The racists members of the Trump Cuck Party in the state don't want that, because most of the citizens of Memphis are black.

You understand the old Memphis House district has been eliminated by the racists Republicans running TN, correct?

And they can still vote.

White is a race moron, and you have played the race card since July 4th, 1776. And that's not including the 160 years you played the race card as a colony.

When you take into consideration that Memphis is actually smaller surrounded by cities like Germanown, Collierville, Bartlett, Lakeland, Arlington, and Millington.
Based on the new congressional maps signed into law in May 2026, parts of Memphis and eastern Shelby County are in Tennessee's 8th Congressional District, represented by Republican David Kustoff. However, Memphis is now split among three districts (5th, 8th, and 9th), with the 8th covering eastern parts of the city, Germantown, and Collierville.

And it should not be.

Over 40% of voters in MA voted Republican, they have ZERO representatives due to Dem extreme gerrymandering. Dems used the same scheme across many states they control to RIG it for the Democrats.

Now, instead of pretending to be outraged about some city in TN, why don't you call us when Democrats reverse the decades of extreme gerrymandering they have committed. We'll just be waiting for that to happen never.

Legal gerrymandering says that is not the case.

Race has nothing to do with it.
Look at who the congressman is for Memphis today. He is NOT BLACK so your whining is misdirected. You should be yelling at democrats who put Steve Cohen in instead of a black person. Do you see my point? You are NOT losing a black member of Congress from Memphis. Its a republican v democrat issue, not a race issue.

1. Read my post #15 first. My point is DEMOCRATS select nominees, they need to put up more minorities. Memphis is majority black, but have Steve Cohen as their congressman, explain that.

2. I'm not racist, Shove that race card up your A$$ sideways.

3. If you still don't understand the point of the OP I can't help you. Read this slowly...
DEMOCRATS HAVE MANY SAFE DISTRICTS, "A GLASS OF WATER" COULD WIN
DEMOCRATS JUST NEED TO NOMINATE MORE MINORITIES IN THEIR SAFE DISTRICTS

Got it? Its not that complicated.
Its not about race, its about legal gerrymandering like the democrats do all over.

Republicans draw the districts when in majority, and now, not just as the constitution states at every 10 year census, but whenever the hell the republicans want to give themselves more power and seats in between censuses.

This is NOT GOOD for our democratic republic and ourselves and our constitutional right to govern ourselves through representation, when our votes mean nothing via those in power's craft, whether democrats do it or republicans do it.

Like the Dems did in New York state in 2024.

If that is true the courts wouldn't allow it. Show me where the Constitution prohibits redistricting between censuses.

A very theoretical argument. I don't think the Constitution describes how districts are to be drawn. The courts allow gerrymandering so it must be legal. Massachusetts is 45% Republican with zero republican representatives, Republicans are just catching up to CA, NY, IL, and the NE states. It is simply the "new normal".

Our votes mean everything, the winners gets to gerrymander, the losers don't.
