ACA: Repeal and Delay?

SEVEN YEARS the GOP has had, at least, to write the replacement bill for Obamacare.

And they've got nothing.
It is not just that...but they do not have a clue what they can do to replace it

Not as easy as they thought

Hey --- you're all connected to the Dem braintrust.

How come THEY dont' have a plan to FIX it???

Both sides are bluffing more than a bit here. The discussion ain't even started. Not even on the EASY stuff -- like fixing pre-existing conditions. Because in reality, there is NO such thing as removing pre-existing conditions completely. You have to exclude folks that got seriously ill YESTERDAY and today suddenly want to buy insurance. They are not the people you want to protect. It's the 1/3 of American males above 40 who are on statin drugs and get EXCLUDED because of "pre-existing" hypertension. Proof of CONTINUOUS coverage for 1 yr or 2 ought to be enough....
More than enough ways to fix it

None require scrapping the whole thing and starting over

Where's the Dem "good will" and competence? And what's taking so ******* long for them to ACKNOWLEDGE it's been blowing up since it was launched? They too busy blocking appointments and stuff?

That the ACA is blowing up is just RW propaganda.

You lost because you party animals are THAT MUCH "out of touch". Keep it up...

PS (and insensitive and unaware and generally incompetent to fix anything of this magnitude)

I couldn't even get my broker with 24 years of health insurance experience to help anymore. I used him to AVOID the exchanges with all that personal prying and mindless interrogation. And NOW -- even tho I sent a check on Dec 10 for Jan1 coverage -- my wife's prescription were REFUSED today. Don't KNOW if I'm covered. Called every working day since the day after Christmas.

Feds will take up to 90 days to "approve" my subsidy level. Insurance company is swamped because 80% of Tenn LOST coverage when BCBShield pulled out last year. Because THEY didn't get the special "under the table guaranteed" stop loss bailouts that they were promised.

My broker said he'd help me if he COULD -- but the only insurers LEFT don't APPROVE brokers anymore. So I now get a formally trained ObamaCare "navigator" with less than 6 weeks of training in anything insurance. Probably last job involved a forklift or a french fry basket.

Nothing that can't be fixed

You want expanded HSAs? Do it
Full tax deductions? Do it
More interstate sales? Do it

Keep the exchanges and make them more efficient

Want to REALLY fix things?
Single payer

I think the Schumer gang spent all their time coming up with the catchy poster slogan for the big Press event today. "Make America Sick Again". Most of the creative energy seems to be slogans and strategery. (Bless GW Bush for that word)..

You should tweet them.. You're further along than they are.
I like that.......almost as good as let em die

Republicans want to scrap Obamacare....show us something better first
It can't be that hard

That would be political suicide since a lot of Americans would lose their insurance.
Most of whom already qualify for Medicare/Medicaid.

That's bullshit . There's a lot of working people out there that wouldn't qualify .

Not to mention, if Republicans want poor people to quit having babies, then they need to quit giving incentives, like free insurance, only to poor people with kids...

:wtf:

So giving healthcare to everyone rather than just people is how you don't support poor people having babies?

:wtf:

Let me explain what I mean by that

:wtf:

You don't get it do you? When you make special offers to people just with babies, and not everyone, you just encourage people that can't afford to care for those babies to have them in order to get a meal ticket for their own benefits. What's worse? Helping support one poor person? Or helping to support a person with a baby until that kid turns 18?

So we should get rid of child tax credits?

It's REALLY REALLY hard when you have lawyers and career poly sci students and politicians PRETENDING they can fix it. Nothing's gonna happen until they step aside and bring in some folks that UNDERSTAND medical services and underwriting.

Not even your fantasy "single payer".. Which is the coward's way out of actually UNDERSTANDING how to deliver healthcare efficiently and accurately.

We will get rid of you first....that will make the rest simpler....

Why would they replace it with anything at all?

They're bound and determined to burn it down to the ground, and Devil take the consequences.

Only for illegal Mexican kids

Plus the Medicare system has been down on and off since Dec 23rd. You can't call about eligibility ,overlapping claims etc... It even overloaded and went down today and wouldn't accept claims submissions.

Ah...the government at work. :)

Obama already cut them in half.

If they at least scrap the Mandate, i'll be satisfied. It's Un-American. It has to go.

Some day I'll tell you the story of how I lost 3 months of my life after Medicare declared my dad dead..

Fun story..

If they at least scrap the Mandate, i'll be satisfied. It's Un-American. It has to go.
If they scrap the mandate they will also have to scrap the requirements related to offering health care to all.

That is, without specific work to address these issues, insurance companies could once again dump those who are sick, require long waiting periods on preexisting conditions, deny coverage and/or require large premiums based on age, gender, health factors they learn about, etc. This would get us back to having people not be able to switch employment due to health care, etc.

The reason for the mandate was that insurance companies can't reasonably survive if customers can jump in when they get sick and then jump out when they are well. They can cover all of us at reasonable rates only if we all get insurance and stay insured.

All Ryan has is his claim of "ideas".

I'm no ACA fan, but it is grossly, criminally irresponsible to kill the ACA (and the health care policies of EVERY US citizen) without a solution to take its place.

I'm glad I never had to buy into that Obamacare BS. I feel bad bad for those who did.

FYI they do that all the time. And then take back all of the payments they made on several months worth of past claims. Try explaining to an elderly half senile 70/80 year old why they now owe 250k in past due bills and they need to contact SS because Medicare declared them deceased.

Government healthcare sucks...did I mention that? :)

15th post
I also feel bad for those who lost their jobs because of obama' Idea of a 'good' plan.
We can't get rid of that idiot soon enough for me.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Trump is already walking back his healthcare kill bill ... says he likes parts of it.

because he's too ******* dumb to completely rewrite the law ... DDDUUUURRRRR

If you have health care coverage it is ACA compliant.

ALL health care policies sold in America are ACA policies - including those offered by employers.

I think what you are saying is that you are glad you didn't have to have your policy subsidized. And, of course, having the wealth/income that obviates the need for subsidies is certainly a good thing!
