The unfortunate thing, given the recent business deals with ME countries benefitting trump financially, and of course that opulent plane, is the appearance he went to the ME more for himself than the country he represents. That he views the presidency as an opportunity to enhance his personal wealth, his lifelong ambition. That his interests are more his own than ours.

I think I've settled on what we're seeing. Yes, there are certainly some strong similarities to both cults and fascism, and those remain.

But more and more, I'm looking at this like a Mafia family. The Don gets most of the riches, the captains get quite a bit, the soldiers squeak by, and the normal population just deals with it. So you're not the good guys, but you have a place.

Appropriate, considering Trump's mentor was the infamous Mob lawyer Roy Cohn. It's just sad to see that America is no longer the Good Guy.

The juxtaposition of trump's cavalier 30 dolls comment, with his eager acceptance of a $400M flying palace that will eventually be for his personal use, is absolutely stunning. Unless you accept how Dear Leader is regarded by the flock as being separate and above everyone else.
