Never heard of this! I will give it a try!

and two days after Saint Barbara there is the day of Saint Nicholas or Nikolaus, who brings sweets for young children.

The bigger presents then come on Christmas Eve.
In South Germany they are brought not by Santa Claus or the Weihnachtsmann, but by a kind of angel called the Christ Child - or in German the Christkind. 🧚🏽‍♂️🧚🏽‍♂️🌹🌹❤️❤️😊

so it is only done in Austria and Germany.

why not worldwide?

but even in Germany many dont know it
.

I wonder why American Catholics know so little about the traditional practices of other Catholics in the world. My feeling is that many American Catholics just don't care. It's sad.

Much more to say about this after I've finished my first cup of coffee.

After September 7th I assume

Nope, even though he's not formally canonized yet, the medals are out.

First time I've heard of Etsy. Maybe I shouldn't read so much Wikipedia.
.

I make Rosaries and prayer chaplets for fund raising, and most of the materials I use come from Etsy. I've used them for about 20 years, as a buyer and a seller, and have never had an issue with their sellers or their administration.

Are you Catholic? I was raised Catholic but it didn't take. Do you have any pictures of you're Rosaries and chaplets?

Yes, I was confirmed a year ago Easter. Best thing that ever happened to me.

Sorry, I don't have any photos. To publish photos that have been taken for sales purposes would give away too much personal information and there are too many doxxers here. Mostly they are unremarkable Rosaries that are meant to give to needy and ill folks.

Do you have a Patron Saint? I can see if there is a prayer chaplet for that saint.

No I don't have a Patron Saint. The first time I went to church, Pope Paul VI was leading it. I had to ask my sister what the priest was saying because everything but the sermon was in Latin. I don't remember what year they changed to English.

I wondered also why Corpus Christi processions are so little known by them. 😒😒💁

if you dont have an unusual invented name, you are likely to have a patron saint. Just ask google. 😊
