Jesus was certainly influenced by Pharisaic thought.
According to a report by Broadview Magazine, Jesus was not a Pharisee like Saul was 123. While Jesus’ education would have certainly been influenced by Pharisaic thought, including Hillel, one of the criticisms of Jesus by His opponents was that He was a common outsider, not a formally trained scholar 34. Saul, on the other hand, was a Pharisee and a highly educated scholar of Jewish law 5. He was known for his strict adherence to the law and his persecution of early Christians 5.
,,, the Pharisees were a Jewish social movement and a school of thought in the Levant during the time of Second Temple Judaism 1. They believed in the resurrection of the dead, the coming of the Messiah, and the importance of following Jewish law 1.
On the other hand, a Nazarite was a person who took a vow to separate themselves from the world and dedicate themselves to God 2. The vow included abstaining from wine and other fermented drinks, not cutting one’s hair, and avoiding contact with dead bodies 2.
While both the Pharisees and the Nazarites were Jewish groups that emphasized the importance of following Jewish law, they differed in their approach. The Pharisees were a social movement that sought to reform Jewish society from within, while the Nazarites were individuals who took a vow to separate themselves from society 12.
