Besides, in the program I worked in, we of course knew who got in via “black standards,” and these kids required a lot of handholding and tutoring, for the most part. The one out of three blacks who got in under the “white standards” required no extra help, and kept up with their higher scoring white peers with no trouble.

You may be hearing that, but she isn’t saying that. Many blacks can make the grade to Harvard, but Harvard has decided that the objective standard doesn’t bring in enough black students. Harvard has taken steps to increase that number. Since there are a finite number of seats in a class, other people are denied to free up those seats.
In the case of this young lady, it seems she can meet the objective standards at all Ivy League colleges as well as seven other prestigious schools. We know little about her, but she seems to be an outstanding person as well as a student.

I read from another article the following:

• That she took a two hour bus ride to school every day and then 2 hours back rather than go to school closer to her with a lesser debating and other academic programs
• That she's been on the debating team since eighth grade and that she was initially reluctant to join because she was already carrying a full load of classes. In my day that meant 6 classes per day.
• That everyone was afraid and reluctant to debate her because she was just that good, known for being REALLY smar with grades "through the roof", and that local attorneys and judges of the competitions were so impressed with her ability to formulate an argument that they suggested (hoped?) that she would go to law school
• In addition to all of the above, she created an organization in her second year of high school that provides support and mentoring to girls because she found the support that she received while in grade school to be invaluable and didn't find anything similar for her in high school.

All indicators show that she is simply an extremely smart young lady who still takes time out to help others. That a very commendable trait for a teenager. And while acceptance by all 8 Ivy League schools plus the other 7 is almost unheard of, there are plenty of young, bright and very smart black girls. My mom just sent me an article for another young lady who just graduated from my alma mater and she's her class president. I think the fact that she started out in their flight program and then switched to another major is what made her think of me. That and the university, while prestigious, is not very well know. It is nicknamed the "Harvard of the sky" though
She was abandoned at birth. Now a Guilford County woman is graduating college as president of her class.

Bullshit. Most of those legacies are due to people allowed to enter college because whites were the only ones admitted. For example, GW Bush went to Yale because his did did. His dad went to Yale when blacks could not. And so GW, Jeb, Neil, etc, and their children could go to Yale because of that.

Maybe because they didn't get in based on merit, which black people are always accused of but the legacy students seem to be given a pass on. And by having done so, displaced a more deserving student who would have qualified based on merit. Perhaps even a more qualified or meritorious person of color.
