Are there not antitrust laws that prevent unions and workers from doing the same and making outlandish demands? It is, but you may have missed the point. Essential workers forming a pact to fleece the companies they work for is untenable. Collusion is illegal for corporations for that very reason. It shouldn’t be legal for employees, again, for the same reason.

Let me play devils advocate for a sec. What about protections against employer abuse and unreasonable demands? What about unsubstantiated claims that can jeopardize a good employee's job?

Very true. However, you could have meant "generous" because it works.

That is not true for most teachers' unions. Their collective bargaining for unions that are barred from striking. can be summed up as, "Please sir! May I have some more."

On Tuesday, about 45,000 dock workers will walk off the job in a massive strike that will shutter dozens of ports along the East and Gulf Coasts, upending the economy just weeks before a tight presidential election.

President Joe Biden could stop the strike, but he says he won’t.

If I were President - I would hold a press conference immediately concerning the matter.

My word's would go like this below;

My fellow Americans !!!
Fear not the coming events that are poised to threaten supply chains, your lives, your livelihoods, and your security.

As long as I'm your president you will not suffer from those who would attempt to hurt you in a bid to enrich themselves at a time of great upheaval in the nation, and especially on the east coast.

As you know a strike is looming, but it comes at a time when America on the east coast is enduring an emergency that came from a hurricane called Helene.

Citizen's are hurting extremely, and they have the full weight of the government at their side.

Now, as for you who want to try to take advantage of your fellow citizen's when they are down I have these word's of warning for you.

1. You will not strike in a time when America is digging out from a major catastrophic event.

2. You will stand down until such time when the event passes, and after we end the state of emergency.

3. When you return to the bargaining table, we will also be present in representation of the citizen's of these United State's of America, and will monitor the bargaining on behalf of the American people.

4. We will intercede only if the nation's food security and supply chains are threatened in a way that a deal is not met, and the two sides decide that hurting Americans and their security is the only option left.

5. If a deal is not met, and the union is being unfair, and a walk out happens, then I will direct the military to take over the situation by supplying troops to replace the worker's on the docks until their replacements are completed.

We the federal government are charged with the protection of the people per the constitution.

It seems they make around $39 per hour, after 6 years. That's not anywhere near excessive. My painter makes $75 per hour in just labor.

We get a good percentage of products from overseas. Many other nations have automated. If the shelves go empty or there are less in the stores due to a strike, then I do not approve. We were sold out on trade deals with nations that use people as near slaves to make products and ship them here. Ironically, Trump would most likely save their carcasses if President.

It can be done (replace with temporary workers made up of soldiers if necessary), and this in order to stop catastrophic consequences from gathering up on innocent Americans who will be used as human shields in a bid too leverage them or their pain in these deals between the two side's as they are being worked out.......

Government is charged to protect the citizen's, and this means protecting them not using them or allowing them to be used to the point of their pain.

We have had 4 years of runaway inflation and dockworkers want to get paid as their wages have shrunk like everyone else's.

Docking fees have skyrocketed as well....one of the first things Joe did when getting into office was raise dock fees.

But the dockworkers got nada.

At least give them a 30% raise. To cover inflation.
