A Black man just stood his ground in Nevada (which is a “stand your ground” state)

We don’t know about anything that lead up to the shooting it could very well be justified self defense under Nevada law depends on the circumstances

Shooter was dealing drugs.
So #4 disqualifies stand your ground as in not a stand your ground situation.
Case closed.
If that is the case yes it would be. Was he charged with dealing drugs at the time of the shooting? I have not seen any post with links saying that but I could have missed it.

Shooter still on the loose.

If he's not legally allowed to carry, jail. If he is legally allowed to carry, does he have a permit?

Nevada is an open carry without permit state, with local restrictions preempting the law... but he obviously wasn't carrying openly.

Based on what little we see in the video, it almost feels like he was, like Rittenhouse, looking for a reason to shoot someone. I get this impression only because his hand is in his... backpack? right up until he shoots, which means he had his hand on the gun for the length of the video.

Admittedly, I could be wrong. Without more video or more information, everything posted here is speculation only...

Here we go:

Man shot in front of Miracle Mile Shops in Las Vegas

...Police say a shooter is not in custody and they believe the shooter ran north on the Las Vegas Strip after the shooting.

If this was a case of "stand your ground," why run away?

Not a case of "stand your ground..."

Two men were attempting to buy marijuana from another man. When the man refused to give them drugs, the suspect shot one of the men in the leg, police said Monday. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Though weed is legal in Nevada, I'd be willing to bet it's still illegal to both sell and buy it on the street. But I'm just guessing...

Your thread fails.
So the thread fails because he ran away?

The only aspect that failed was trying to bring race into the subject. The 2A applies to all American citizens, regardless of race, gender, sexual preference, religious, cultural, or economic status.

I'm sure you get tired of having to hear about the disproportionate number of shootings and murders committed by black people, but that's something you need to deal with in your own community.

Need more details to judge if stand your ground applies here. Having served on jury duty here in Florida there was a case where a black man shot an un armed man trying to rob him. He tried to retreat as the man in the video did, the robber chased him.The black man pulled his conceled carry 38. and killed the guy in front of winesses.Judge ruled it justifiable under our stand your ground law.

yes it does,,,you cant start a fight and then shoot them and claim stand your ground,,,
How do you explain his retreating then?

Remember, the gun wasn't introduced, until the white attacker confronted the retreating black guy.
What, do you think the black guy was grasping the family jewels in that bag?
Not enough information to form an opinion...for most normal, non-racists, that is...
Look I agree the current video is not enough BUT Marc has a point, with as little info you guys all defend white guys that shoot people. We need more context but to simply dismiss it because in this case the shooter is black is in fact noticeable and wrong.

but we know the black guy was robbing the white guy and the shot him when he tried to get his money back,,,

and I have never seen anyone on this forum defend someone because they were white,,,

Not in my book, If he was justified he is justified whether he ran or not. And yes it appears that most of the posters here are NOT giving the same level of support they do to white shooters in similar situations.

You're assuming he's standing his ground. How do you know that without knowing how it started?
Was the black guy not retreating in the footage we do have?

His movement is just one piece of the puzzle.

Let's just be honest here, you're assuming he's going to get screwed because of his race. You're jumping to conclusions and proclaiming him innocent solely based on race without knowing all the facts. Maybe this is self defense, but maybe he instigated a confrontation and assaulted someone. We can't know until the facts come out.

This situation appears nowheres near that.
OP is a race baiter who believes that we still live under 'Jim Crow' law....:cuckoo:.

And yet when a white guy shoots someone most of the posters now attacking Marc would be defending the shooter. With as little context and the people attacking Marc would not be making up robbery excuses.

Ah, more info comes out. Possible drug deal gone bad which may explain why the black guy ran and hasn't been found.

I'd like to see the numbers of white people killing white people vs black people killing black people.

Then I can determine whether or not I need to feel guilty about something I have nothing to do with.

The law states if you are committing a crime then “stand your ground” doesn’t apply.
What does that have to do w/who started it?

It's the law, race tard!
Now go watch 'Lovecraft Country' so you can keep your blame/hate ****** levels high!

then start another thread on that topic and stop trolling your own thread with off topic BS,,,

Because he was engaged in an illegal activity.
