How many of them understand that we already have federal background checks?

How many of them know that "universal background checks," can be passed by criminals using straw buyers, just like they do for current, federally mandated background checks?

How many of them know that for many of the "universal background check," plans, if you loan a gun to a friend at a gun range...so they can try it out.....you will have committed a felony because you did not do a background check....do you think that is what they understand these background checks to be?

Do they understand that the only way to pretend that "Universal Background checks," will work, is you must register all guns....in order to know who owns the gun before the background check is done to make sure the background check is actually done?

Do they understand that every country that has registered guns has used those registration lists to ban and confiscate guns?

Do they understand that actual criminals.....with illegal guns....do not have to register their illegal guns...and that if they are caught with an illegal gun, they can't be prosecuted for not registering their gun? That if a normal, law abiding citizen is then caught with an unregistered gun....those individuals can, and will be prosecuted and convicted and then be felons....

Check the Supreme Court ruling in Haynes v United States........where they ruled that gun registration is a violation of the 5th Amendment for criminals with illegal guns...
