We see much of the same thing on here--conservatives who self-censor to kowtow to the powers that be out of fear of retribution.

Whilst the ramifications of that on here is inconsequential, however nationwide it is a huge problem...folks going along to get along. Outrageous and very damaging to the nation.

THey are ashamed. They should be.
Ashamed of what? Being conservative?

That is absurd.
Yes. Given what the blob's GOP has done to the conservative movement.
I could say the same about what the Neo-liberals have done to civil rights and civil liberties.

The left has fielded corrupt and loathsome war monger after crap politician beholden to the big interests more than the folks they supposedly claim to over the past century, and the inequality has only grown. This is not just on the other party sister. The oligarchs invest in both parties.

So are you saying the technocrats and K street folks, the ones that are to blame for the point we are at, should decide what thoughts can be exchanged and what ideas can be shared?

I'm afraid I never thought you, of all people would be promoting such tyrannical ideas. . . . for shame. . . . for shame. . . . :nono:

Not sure what that jumbled mess of vowels and consonants was supposed to mean. But I'll elaborate on what the GOP has done to the conservative movement:

A POS scumbag President who has paid porn stars and prostitutes for sex is now endorsed by the religious right. Persons like Jerry Falwell Jr., Ralph Reed, et. al.
Remember when you guys used to be deficit hawks? Now you support a POS scumbag President who has run up $5 Trillion in debt in less than 4 years.
All true.

But that doesn't give you the right to silence or ignore the first Amendment.

What don't you get?

The moment you start doing that, because you don't like what another party has become? You have become tyrants, totalitarians, authoritarians.. .. . etc.

Nobody has been denied their first amendment rights.
Oh, of course not.

They can say what they want. . . and risk a beating, a doxxing, a banning, a firing, an eviction, a suspicion, an expulsion, a cancelling. . . .

And you think this only happens to conservatives? Really?

It isn't about liberal or conservative candy.

It is about respecting enlightenment ideals.

If you have to destroy the body because of what you feel is a disease in it? You have lost, the same is true of conservatives. I have not seen in them such destruction and chaos though. .

Just be careful how radical you want to go on your fellow countrymen.

You joined the fray when I pointed out how bizarre the conservative movement has become during Trump's GOP relative to the christian coalition and the deficit hawks. Then you broadened it to include the first amendment. I'm not sure what the angle is since nobody is being denied their first amendment rights; conservative or otherwise. Hell, I remember when the Dixie Chicks were sanctioned because of what they said about W. And I think Whoopi Goldberg got dropped by a few brands she endorsed for the same reason. That was about 15 years ago. Consequences for what you say is nothing new and it knows no political ideology.

The modern conservative creed is repellant in the extreme. It is based on greed and self interest and expressing those ideas is not a great way to make friends, or get laid, They are obviously smart enough to realise that. Maybe there is hope that they will evolve at some point.

Judging from the daily bombardment of Racial injustice emails my wife gets from the University, I'm thinking it's going to be closer to 100% Conservative self-sensorship.
Probably a good idea... The last thing these guys want is for people to realize how pig-ignorant they are, and that they'd get thrown off campus as a waste of time...

I think not...they are just fearful of retribution.
I'm sure some are. Many are probably ashamed of the bucket of shit that is in the White house. But most are probably, like me, apprehensive to voice political views to those in close proximity. Especially given the right wing's habit of shooting people who they don't like, running over people they don't like, blowing up people they don't like, mailing bombs to people they don't like, making hit lists of the people they don't like....
Liberals can say the most horrible things about America's president with no fear of retribution.

I referred to ms. harris with the term 'kamel toe' on here in a thread that was then trashed. This board has made an embarassing and awkward turn to the left...why?

Kinda reminds me of how drudge turned against Trump overnight...no credible explanation for it but some think he is being blackmailed...as in he wanted to stay in the closet.
Yes, it appears that DRUDGE has been intimidated-----possibly blackmail or physical threat.

I don't why anyone takes you seriously.
Years ago, before she came down with a serious case of TDS, she used to be quite reasonable.
There's a lot of that going around.

An atmosphere of inclusivity and tolerance. As long as you are far-left anti-American communist, that is.

Why should they be ashamed?

And they are not ashamed, they are scared.

The prevailing groupthink on Campuses is hard left, and doesn't deal well with pagans.

Conservatives need a civil rights movement to obtain equality and restore academic integrity in these colleges.

BUT it must be remembered that it is Super Globalist Billionaires that have used their domination of TV networks, newspapers, Hollywood, Academy and Silicone Valley to program these clueless young kids.

True. If Trump loses the election, it will be because he and his supporters succeeded in alienating that many people.

Don't self-censor only if you are prepared to fight. If you intend to refrain from self-censorship it's wise to have a concealed carry permit and actually carry.

But never forget: It's not words that count. It's votes. You can't carry into a polling place so be sure you leave your non-democrat hats, pins, etc. at home when you go to vote else you might not survive to cast that ballot.

Democrat thugs are just practicing in Portland, Seattle, etc. for election day.

Yes, Trump is the first politician who both lies and chases tail.

/sarcasm.
