If true, this paints a dismal picture for many Americans. Yet Joe wants to cut social security.

Opinion: Half of Americans over 55 may retire poor

COVID-19 job losses, early withdrawals may decimate retirement finances
“Our data is showing that, because of the COVID recession, about 50% of workers over the age of 55 will be poor or near-poor adults when they reach 65,” she said.
How poor is that? “A person who’s 65 will be near-poor or poor if they’re living on less than $20,000 a year,” she told me. “I think we could all agree that means chronic deprivation for the rest of your life.”

This is shocking and although I’ve viewed the retirement situation in the United States as more of a chronic illness than a crisis, this would make it a crisis for millions of Americans. It also would reverse decades of progress toward eliminating poverty among the elderly, from the Social Security Act of 1935 through Medicare in 1965 and beyond. As more people turn 65 and face poverty-stricken retirements, the fiscal and political implications could be enormous.

Outsourcing to Communist China has consequences. They go well beyond just this, but, expansion of poverty is certainly one of them

Thanks democrats.
It’s really a bipartisan affair.

That is very true. Though, republicans eventually realized that the policy of globalization did not give the promised results and elected someone with a different platform.

Though many of the long term republicans are still loyal to the old failed ideology.

Yes, they elected a globalist to fix globalization. Shocking that it didn't work.

They elected the candidate that wanted to try vs the candidate that wanted to give up on those jobs.

That he has a record of engaging in the very practice that he has promised to address, is a minus, but it still makes vastly more sense to go with the person who is says he will try, vs the one who says she will NOT.

Now, let's see what you have to contribute to the conversation now. Because I have yet to see a lib that can respond to that.

Biden’s campaign told PolitiFact that throughout his career in Congress, Biden cast nearly 50 votes to increase Social Security benefits or block Republican plans to curtail benefits.

As vice president during the Obama administration, Biden generally focused on protecting Social Security, and resisted moves to privatize Social Security. However, the administration in 2014, proposed changing how Social Security cost-of-living increases were calculated. The method, which the left-leaning Center for Budget and Policy Priorities found would have reduced benefits by 1% to 2% over the course of the average retirement, received push-back and was later dropped.

I don't believe any tramp ad.

Its the tramp admin wants to privatize SS and make Medicare private as well, Advantage Plans.

The president can't bring back manufacturing jobs yet Congress can and as long as these corporations have no ties to the US govt. they can do as they please and a large part of corporations are multinational corporations that can do as they please.
Roosevelt found that out when he tried to get manufacturers and robber barons to start up production during the depression, it took govt. money to reestablish the manufacturing base for WWII.

A corporation has no ties to US, we don't have to let them have access to the latest market in the world.

We have power. We have leverage. Let's us it to protect and advance our interests, especially the interests of the American Workers.

Fuck the corporations that want to build products with slave labor and sell it here at a premium.

Whether they are American, international, Chinese, or fucking German or ect.

My trade of mason can't be outsourced like when I was an industrial and military electronics tech and electrician. The wealthy have let the illegals take over much of the construction trades yet I am an independent operator that works for average citizens that appreciate English speaking white folks that fix their problems. I am all for bring back industries to the US but they will have to be heavily subsidized or socialized. Why, because that's how they are beating us via outsourcing to nations that have figured out how to beat the USA.

But, millions of other jobs can. And then they come into your field and bring down your wages.

Also, do you really not give a damn about your friends and family and community who are losing jobs and wages?

That was then, this is now; we should raise the minimum wage to generate more tax revenue.

I can give a damn but it won't be worth a damn because I am not wealthy or powerful. It is the wealthy that put us in this position, those are people I refuse to support people like Trump who hires the illegals, outsources his production lines and then claims to be a friend to the US worker...
