I can’t get over how people, on the dole for free food, and with very generous hand-outs, and who KNEW there could be a shutdown in October, are now “starving” one day after their food stamps were stopped.

What they SHOULD have been doing - for months - is taking the $10 they would have otherwise spent on Cheetos and junk food each week, and instead buying an extra pound of ground beef one week, some extra pasta and sauce the next week, some extra cans of veggies and fruit the next, etc., etc.
