The Government shut down is causing a lack of funds. Trump is not going to do anything about it. He is using this as a tool to get the Democrats to give in on the Government shutdown position.

I do know that the Trump supporters will be saying that this is Chuck Schumers fault as he is the one that advocated for the Democrats not to give in. Nonetheless, the man in CHARGE is Trump and the responsibility falls on his shoulders as he is in a position to fix this, either by giving in to the demands of the Democrats not to cut Medicaid and Medicare, or by finding the funds to give to the SNAP program so that these Americans do not starve!

The president is not the leader of the Senate, he's the leader of the executive branch. The president does not have the power to end the Democratic party of slavery's filibuster.
