$22.62 minimum wage!

Hm let's see. I make 725$ a month wife makes ohhh maybe 1400$ so 2,125$ a month between the 2 of us equals 25,500$ and she just started this job in August. So OK I can give 500$ to someone..between needing a new vehicle, finding a better place to rent and paying for kids Christmas sure it won't be a problem. How about you snobby fucks making more than 50k a year dish some out OR here is a good idea lets take the Waltons for example who were born into wealth and are worth more than 40% of the rest of the country and split up their wealth to the workers they shit on every single day and force onto welfare which WE PAY FOR!
you make $725 per month? Diing what?...
There's your problem. You haven't the ambition to do anything else.
And please, spare me the "I'm disabled and cannot work" shit.
If you can type on a computer to bitch about how rotten everything is, you can become employed by any number of companies that permit telecommuting.
No...You'd rather sit home, collect your check, spew shit about racial purity and of course make babies you cannot afford. Shut the fuck up. You lazy good for nothing freeloading asshole.

Ah, the compassion of the cons. Fuck the disabled, fuck the poor, fuck the elderly, fuck the sick, fuck the middle class. Bet this is one of those CEO's that make 900 times the wage of one of his employees. Nice post fukwit.

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Excuse me, but FUCK YOU...
Fucking crybaby.

No wonder you support socialism.

That might explain why you aren't doing so well, your "good idea" consists of forcefully taking someone else's money. You should work on ideas involving ambition, good decisions, and a bit of sacrifice.

That's because I get SSI moron. If I was working which I am looking for based on my skill should bring in about 1600-2000 a month or so.

That's because I get SSI moron.
That doesn't surprise me either.

Your "good ideas" still consisted of demanding other posters who make more than 50k give you money, or that money is forcefully taken from other wealthy people to give to you.

That kind of attitude is why you're stuck with a big L on your forehead.

You want to tell me about these wonderful companies please? Even the medical transcription jobs went overseas.
Enterprise Car Rental for one. The starting wage is $14 handling customer service calls. If one has a 4 year degree, Enterprise has customer service positions that are management track.
There are tons of other opportunities if one is willing to make the right moves, get the training or education..No excuses.

$14 an hour for someone with a college degree? Do you know what a college degree costs? And you think this is appropriate? I have a friend who made that much more than 30 years ago, right out of high school in construction. Yeah, this is definitely a good thing for our economy, NOT!

And of course there are "tons" of other opportunities, you just have no proof of them. Face it, things are not what they once were in this country and even a college education doesn't always help.

No one is demanding others take money from someone else. Merely asking for a better wage you idiot. Jesus christ some people...again comprehension does freaking wonders!

If instead the federal minimum wage had grown at the same rate as one-percenter earnings, it would sit at $22.62 per hour today — 212 percent higher than the current wage floor.

More like $23.50/hr.

Where The Minimum Wage Would Be If The Top One Percent Didn't Leave Workers Behind

What a bunch of nonsense.
What you lefties refuse to acknowledge is the fact that labor is a commodity.
The market rate for low skill entry level jobs is at the appropriate level proportionate to the available labor pool eligible to perform those jobs.
Just because thinkprogress offers an opinion does not make it fact.

A person is not a commodity!

Simpleton? A simpleton believes that increasing the cost of production does not impact the cost of said product, that is unless you, at the same time increase productivity. Do you propose a law demanding higher productivity?

I thought not

Sure, but how much?

Let's do the numbers!

An employee making $10.00/hr + 32% or $3.20/hr + healthcare $3.00/hr = $16.20/hr. Since this figure is 100% subsidized, after deductions is about 30%, or $4.86/hr which is the net cost of the employee.
Yer kidding right?...You're forgetting the 6.2% for Social Security, 1.45% for medicare, plus the cost of workers comp insurance.
For a person making $20k per year in a job that is on the light side of hazardous, costs about $2k to $3k per year.
You are obviously not in the business world as an employer. Please stop.

What do you think the +32% is?

So you believe that human beings should be treated as animals fit only to serve as slaves under the lash of a master?

I'll bet a higher percentage of my money goes to help those not so well off than yours does. I KNOW a higher percentage of my time goes to help them.

You do huh? crystal ball tell you that? and that's why you have to brag about it

What can I say, I'm psycho, I mean psychic. It's not bragging, it's a statement of fact. BTW, it's in your attitude. You are demanding that others give what they have, indicating that you are unwilling to give of your own. It's pretty telling. Also, very few people put in as many volunteer hours as I do and some put in even more.

oh brother.. psychobabble
but carry on toot toot tooting your horn

The value of ALL human labor (incluing highly skilled and information based labor) is inevitably going DOWN.

This is an organic problem stemming from the concept of capitalism and private property in an environment where DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY replaces human labor.

I honestly do not see a solution that does not involve a massive change in the social contract.

Nobody has to be a bad guy for this to continue to be a problem.

This problem will begin to fuck up the investment class as much as it already is fucking up the working classes.

It was the CEO's responsible for the failed banks and the failed corporations.

To an extent yes, and to another, no. When profit is private and debt is public, there is a serious issue.

Capitalism works and is the most fair and effective system known to man. The market showed that what AIG, Morgan Stanley, General Motors, and so many others did was bad business. The market was poised to correct the bad decisions made. BUT government stepped in and thwarted the market.

Why do some CEO's take foolish risks? Because there is no risk. As long as they are connected, the government will use taxpayer funds to bail them out. This creates an incentive for CEO's to behave irresponsibly.

They make money off of sending our jobs overseas

If they do, then there is a serious problem. If shipping products thousands of miles away from the intended consumer market, manufacturing that item, then shipping it thousands of miles back is more economical than manufacturing domestically, then there are cancerous deficiencies in the domestic work force.

and hiring slave labor in other countries and in the end, that's going to cost you. It was our healthy middle class that made us the richest country in the world, not the top 1% that you worship.

I am well educated. I understand economics and markets. I have expertise in Lean and Six Sigma. I understand a spaghetti chart and the impact of logistics on a process. IF a domestic process is so fucked up that sending it across an ocean is profitable, then the board room is the last place to look for the cause.

I am an executive in a company that routinely takes work away from China - because we are innovative and efficient.

With the middle class disappearing, so goes our wealth. Soon those corporations that spread out overseas will lose everything as the people who purchased their goods, won't be able to afford it anymore. Some of that's already happened. Some of it has been pushed off to future generations with taxpayer bailouts.

I will remind you that disparity in wealth accumulation is greater under Obama than any president in history. These socialists and fascists you turn to as saviors, are that real enemy.

#1 catalyst for offshoring - The EPA. Why don't we make PCB's in this county? Because it is virtually illegal.

My mother in law worked for Avis for decades. They treated her exceptionally well. Paid pretty well, I think she ended up about $25 an hour - for checking in rental returns. They always had nice Christmas parties and summer picnics. She only had a high school education. (though from Germany, in many ways she was better educated than many collage grads here in the states.)

A person is not a commodity!

You are an uneducated dolt, living in mom's basement, spending your days smoking dope.

Labor absolutely is a commodity. When the sink breaks, your mom hires a plumber to fix it (because Allah knows you SURE the fuck have neither the talent or ambition to fix it - or even clean the pig sty of a room you wallow in.) When she hires the plumber, it isn't so that she can PAY A LIVING WAGE and make sure he is cared for, it's to GET THE FUCKING SINK FIXED. She purchases the labor as a commodity and looks for the best price she can get.

Sounds like a good start towards alleviating the problems of poverty and low government revenues.

I'm afraid your post went right over the "I pee sitting down" Lib 'man-boys here.
They were all raised to believe a strange dichotomy: A: "We are all the same and no one is any smarter than anyone else. The proof of that is we all got the same 'gold-like' trophies at the Liberal Indoctrination Centers we sometimes attended. And if some people richer than others it's because they are 'mean/evil/racists/women hating bastards who don't care about 'the poor' or 'the trees'.
B: They were raised to believe they are 'special'. That's the way mommy treated them after all. Being 'special' means they can make the easy transition from depending on mommy sneaking them money behind daddy's back to depending on 'The Big Mommy' in Washington.

God I'd LOVE to be in a job interview with you when you tell that to anyone remotely thinking of hiring you. You're HILARIOUS!
Idea for you: Why not get a nice big button you can wear to the next.....if there ever will be, job interview. The button will proudly declare: "I"M A PERSON NOT A COMMODITY!"
