If these types of folks didn't have straw-men arguments and name calling, they would not be able to post on the forum.Seriously?

True, but we do tend to call them that. The Vietnam conflict just doesn't sound right. Not every military conflict is a war.
The constitution says the president does.
But Trump supporters don't care about the constitution, as long as Trump's the one taking a dump on it.
He's programmed to only see the transgressions by non-Democrats.Let's just make sure that we know that both sides have been doing this for decades.

TN's political philosophy is much closer to the founders than yours is, thus, I don't give a sh1t about your opinion on this.
That was the last time Congress wrote a declaration of war. NINETEEN FOURTY TWO.
How many wars have we been involved with since? You people only ***** about "mUh cOnGrEsS" when its the "other side" doing the crap.
You are all so disingenuous it is nauseating.

The Last Formal Declaration of War - JSTOR Daily
The last time Congress formally declared war was in World War II.daily.jstor.org
Delegation of powers is not in the constitution. Anywhere. Jefferson spoke of it, but he was also referring to non legislative power. Guess what declarations of war is?
You guys don't really care about the constitution. At all.
Real liberalism is dead.
Real conservatism is dead.
Neoconservatism is alive and well.
that's a judicial element of our country, what about them, they don't write law.Supreme Court
Supreme Court
not at all. No boots on the ground, so you're incorrect. He's been in and left every time. You can't cite one time.Im not trying to justify anything.
But the outrage is disingenuous. He has been doing what EVERY other president has been doing for almost 80 years.
Its ridiculous.
NONE of this should have been happening.
But you guys only care when its the other side. So nothing ever gets done about it.
Another one ^^^^ that doesn't understand what fringe means and how fringe people are detrimental to their cause.
No, they are the ones that made up delegation of powers. They ruled on it? Serious question. If they did why are they legal? And yes Congress passed it
No, they are the ones that made up delegation of powers.
I understand congressed it, but just because congress passes something, doesnt make it constitutional. Congress passed the patriot act and that bypassed several amendments. Our rights, and powers of the government, dont just go away or appear, because congress signs some legislation.
Yes! Lets celebrate the Supreme court making laws from the bench, making things up, and presidents abusing their powers and going against the founders! So if Congress passed it and SCOTUS hasn't struck it down Trump can use it like his predecessors.
I understand now. Thanks!!!
So you launch a straw-man argument and when I demolish it, you think it a good strategy to deploy an ad hom fallacy? How does it feel to be his cuck?![]()

We have their intent. It is recorded. That should be the end all, but of course, political parties matter more. The POTUS can’t “declare war” against another country, but he can “use military action” against another country.
Is the way we’ve been doing this what was intended by the founding fathers? I doubt it.
A few things:
- I think our Constitution should have been more clear on this.
- I think we should have fixed this loophole by now, which has been exploited by both sides.
- I think it’s troubling that we’re still running into these kinds of system issues this far into our nation’s existence.
- I think the POTUS has too much power.
