I have not been to almost any of these, except Detroit, and that is probably the best U.S. airport I have been to. I also like Midway airport in Chicago, but Detroit is better, there was nothing I didn't like about it. My favorite international airport is Flughafen Berlin.

10) Detroit Metro Airport (DTW)

9) Salt Lake City International (SLC)

8) Indianapolis International Airport (IND)

7) Albuquerque International Sunport (yes, Sunport) (ABQ)

6) Rhode Island International Airport (PVD)

5) Seatle Paine Field International Airport (PAE)

4) Minneapolis St.Paul International Airport (MSP)

3) Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)

2) Long Beach Airport (LGB)

1) Portland International Airport (PDX)

The most improved has to be LaGuardia in NYC. The terminal upgrade there made it actually a place worth flying through.

If you can stomach the quick hard takeoffs, the short landings, and the hard turns you make due to its size and location.

Yea, those NYC airports have some of the most congested airspace in the country, and there is just not enough room to expand anything. I waited on the passway last week at O'Hare as my flight was waiting for clearance to takeoff and it was just a constant procession of one plane after another taxiing or landing.

Good to hear about LaGuardia, JFK remains my least favorite airport in the U.S., always avoid it.

Austin Bergstrom is one of the better ones.

Shreveport is one of the best small ones.

Phoenix is awful.
