Depends on how WMD is being defined. Right now, it applies to any explosive no matter how trivial. If wea pplied current definitions of WMD abroad, eevryone would have them if they have so much as a grenade.

At the time, Iraq possibly having WMD was more in the sense they might have a nuclear or biological program. And it's not like a holy thing either as the US has one of the biggest WMD programs around.

Well Saddam didn't kill all those Kurds with his good looks.

I never thought he had nuclear weapons but I knew he had chemical because he used them on the Kurds.

He also ingnored the UN after his Kuwait debacle.

He did not say, "Saddam has some old Chemical weapons that have gone largely inert because of age and chemical degradation, and he lacks the missiles or artillery pieces to delivery them."

He talked about mushroom clouds and threats to american cities, which there clearly wasn't.
