Why can't FIFA just hire talent from football or baseball to get this fixed?

It's the antiquated rules, like the "handball" where someone nails you with a blast from ten feet away in which you cannot detach your arms or
move them from an instinctively defensive posture in a split second. Yet it's called a handball.
It's absurd. Or the off sides rule which is senseless but the purists fundamentalist football fans insist it cannot be
changed. It's their game but it's absurd.

How about keeping time? They fixed this in US college play. So simple. If there is a stop in play, the official stops the clock.
It's too simple a fix to have this guess work by the official.

Except for a few plays the game is boring. Mistakes and breaks still can give and NFL team a chance. But in soccer it is a death knell. And the shootout is a joke. After playing all that time to have kicks several yards away from the goalie takes the luster away from the game so many like. Perhaps rules need to be changed to give us more then 0-0 games.

The guy is more unhinged than I though.

He's only interested in how his team reacts to his ploy.
If they find motivation in it he doesn't care what others think of it. I don't think his tactic will be particularly successful.

There are many kinds of skill.

If there was no offside the game would degenerate. What would happen is that teams would stick a couple of big thugs near the goal and hoof the ball forward. Its then a percentage game because at some point your man will get on the end of one of
them. Exciting for a little while but ultimately tedious.
