CDZ Women should embrace both owning and carrying guns as acts of personal empowerment.

Here is another story of a girl who was savagely attacked by an ex boyfriend, stabbed so many times they thought she may never walk or talk again, who now carries a gun because, as she states, she will never be a victim again...

Of course, since she wasn't 21 at the time, democrats would prefer she face the attacker without a gun...

48 Hours Live to Tell: Melissa Dohme's story of survival - CBS News

According to the Centers for Disease Control, women between the ages of 18 and 24 experience the highest rate of relationship violence of any age group ... and never is it more dangerous than when they try to leave. It's a disturbing trend known as "breakup violence."

Melissa Dohme, just 20 years old at the time, was viciously stabbed 32 times outside her Clearwater, Fla., home --simply for ending a relationship. Some of the images in this story are tough to look at, but Melissa wants you to see them. With violence against women dominating the headlines, she says we can't afford to turn away. This is her story.

----

And another survivor who helped her recover....

Audrey Mabrey | Survivor: I believe Melissa and I met for a very special purpose. I wanted to mentor and guide her through part of her journey that I knew she was going to face.

I knew because I had lived through it myself. ... I was attacked in 2009 when I was 26 years old.

I was separated from my husband Chris, who's a retired New York City detective ... we had two sons together.

Chris ... did not use a knife or a gun. He used a hammer to bludgeon me in the head, and then a candle and gasoline to set me on fire. ... I was burned over 80 percent of my body.

And then she started dating one of the men who helped save her life.......they started shooting together...

Melissa Dohme: Cameron showed my mom and I around the station. I tried on his uniform, and his hat, and his big, you know, jacket.

And he let me sit in the truck. And, you know, it was just like-- I mean, (laughs) I felt like-- my first crush all over again.

We started talking and we realized we have a lot in common. ...and we found out that we both enjoy shooting. And that was how he kinda, you know, asked me out on our first date. And he said, "'you and I should go shooting sometime'" and I was like hands down, "I would love to go shooting with you," you know and we've been shooting together ever since.

I will never ever be defenseless again in my life. ... Under any circumstances I will be able to defend myself.

Who said under 21 can't have a gun?

The anti gun extremists since the Parkland shooting....that's who.
LOL They don't want students to have highly reliable, efficent WMD M4's

If the "womens movement" actually cares about empowering women, they should whole heartedly embrace owing and carrying guns......the only real way a woman can stand a chance against violent ( democrat) males....
Sure! Why then when my Republican Aunt & Uncle got into an argument, she pulled her pistol out of purse & shot him.

That has exactly what to do with the subject?

^^^^^^^ Look, is that a rabbit?

No, thanks.

That's your choice and good for you but you have no business telling others they can't make the choice to carry
mmmm I have never asked that women not be able to carry a handgun. Pretty damned sure about that, as a matter of fact.

if she lived in NYC she would have to show cause to some NYPD dimwit.

That's what people like you want for the rest of the country.
What I want is for ALL prospective gun owners to be vetted by a background check system that contains complete and up to date information. I also want a system that allows LE to intervene and confiscate guns from someone who has become unstable.
And no military-style assault weapons like AR's.
I don't know what anyone else wants, but just so you know.

This guy came back for seconds.......Now dead, thank God she had a gun

Woman shoots rapist in her home

"
When Ronnie W. Preyer, a registered sex offender who was about to be charged with assaulting her a week earlier, broke into her home shortly after 2 a.m. Friday, she said a calm settled over her as she shot him in the chest before running to a neighbor's to get help.

Preyer, 47, of Cape Girardeau was pronounced dead a few hours later at Saint Francis Medical Center.

A dark bruise still marring the side of her face, the rape victim described the previous assault. She had been watching TV around midnight Oct. 25 when she heard a crash. She knew her basement door, leading up to her kitchen, was unlocked, and the noise had come from the basement.

Realizing an intruder had broken into the house, she

made a beeline for the back door, but Preyer was waiting for her.

"You fight, you try to think of all the things you can do, but it's happening so fast," she said."

Sad, again, why would anyone want to make the most vulnerable even more so?

There has to be a reason.

No, thanks.

I wonder if the rape victim I just posted about would have been judged unstable? Maybe? In which case she would likely now be dead.

There is no reason to wonder that, based on the information provided.

The problem is systems like that can be abused by people who don't want anyone to have a gun, like in NYC.

Do you really think it takes 3-6 months to do a background check?

Should a law abiding person be forced to pay up to $600 above the cost of the gun just to own one?

No, thanks.

The AR-15 is not a military style weapon.....it has never been used by the military, it was never used in war, it is no different from any other semi automatic rifles in private hands...there are over 8 million in private hands right now....and over 16 million semi automatic rifles in private hands....

The ones preying on fear are you guys.....we have close to 600 million guns in private hands, and over 17 million people carrying guns....and our gun murder rate has gone down 49%, our gun violence rate down 75%, and our violent crime rate 72%........yet you guys want to ban these guns.....you are preying on fear, not us.

No you just don't want guns around at all
Not around my house, no. One of my coworkers keeps a handgun (pink) in her purse. I have no problem with that. In fact, it might come in handy someday if one of our students goes postal. If she could dig it out of her bag in time to do any good, that is.

You should tell her that she should stop carrying it in her purse and get a holster. If you have a gun and carry it, you should have it on your body where you can control it.
How about one of those really cool wrist springs so all you have to do is flex a certain way and it pops out into your hand?

No, thanks.

Background checks in Maine are $31. You should move.

No, NYC should follow the Constitution.

If Alabama bans abortion can't the people there just move?

When prepared, your chance of being a victim goes down exponentially.

Read these stories:

Home - The Well Armed Woman

They didn't think they'd ever need a gun, a helluva lot of em would be dead now if they didn't have one. AND THEY ARE THE SURVIVORS.

The others don't talk much, cuz they're dead.

I'm pretty sure the radical left does the same thing. If I had a daughter I'd advise her to carry a small gun in her purse and have it ready to use if needed. It ain't about personal empowerment so much as personal safety. You can get a small .380 semi auto pistol with 7 shots that is really light to carry and shoot if you have to. And one other thing, about personal empowerment, don't be thinking just cuz you got a gun doesn't mean you can or should go places that are unsafe. Which BTW is good advice for males too.

Males tend to be the victims or armed robbery at a pretty high rate, because they go places alone they shouldn't go to even in groups...
