I am having to rethink this post given the media flurry over AOCs pronouncement that "RICO is not a crime." Apparently many consider RICO a crime that can be applied in many different ways from manipulating student test scores (Georgia) to extreme racketeering as we would find in the old American mafia et al. But if a person does something under the RICO statutes it is a crime. Tough call.. Crime? Or category?Well she's right. RICO is not a crime but a category of crime. However Bobulinski unequivocally said yes when AOC asked him if he had witnessed Joe Biden commit a crime. And she would not let him specify the crime. He is not a lawyer so would need to explain what the crime was that he was specifying but he probably could not put the exact legal terminology to it.
By contrast when Schiff paraded out his cadre of witnesses to accuse Donald Trump of crimes and the Republicans asked each one if they specifically heard or witnessed Trump doing or saying or suggesting anything inappropriate or illegal, each one said unequivocally "no".
And Les Parnas is facing 20 months prison courtesy of the Biden administration who took him out when he was still Giuliani's associate. Anybody want to follow the money and whatever he was promised to testify the way he did?
What is RICO and why are prosecutors using it against Trump?
Criminal charges filed against former U.S. President Donald Trump in Georgia state court include allegations that he violated an anti-organized crime law known as RICO that is more expansive than its federal counterpart.
