Willard will show Americans same respect he showed the moderator

The real "lesson" of this debate is that for the first time Barack Obama had to stand on the same stage as Romney to defend his record and he didn't do well. The President looked annoyed that someone was questioning him and kept retreating to the same talking points he's been using on the stump for the past year even though Romney was talking about other things. Romney on the other hand looked happy to be there having that discussion. He simply called the President on his failings and Obama really didn't have a come back for that.

He actually needed factual, honest answers...he had none and failed miserably.

Dear Leader doesn't like having his feet held to the fire.

He's given all of his speeches in this loving "cocoon" of college students and public sector unionists for the past year, Beretta...standing on stage in front of crowds that would have cheered him if he'd simply read the local phone book page by page. I think Barack Obama convinced himself that he WAS a political rock star and that all he needed to do was show up to debate and Romney would fall to his knees to genuflect. When Romney disputed what he said, Obama first looked surprised...and then turned peevish. For a man who's made his living standing on stages it was about as bad a performance as I've EVER seen. Barack Obama gave us a Rick Perry debate last night.

Not to mention all of the fluffing the media does for Dear Ruler.

I was hoping going in that Romney learned something from Newt who wasn't shy about taking on moderators during the candidates' debates earlier this year. And I'd look for him to do so again in the next two debates if the mods try to tilt things to the left. And screw 'em if they or the Dimocrats don't like it. This is war and one sure way to lose it is to not smack someone when they deserve it.

Kudos to Mitt. Keep it up if necessary and ditto to Paul Ryan.

The lesson of the debate is the complete disrespect and lack of regard Willard had for the moderator, who he said he liked.

Just substitute the American people, 47% of whom he does not even like, for the moderator and you will get a taste of how the American people will be treated and listened to if Willard is elected. No matter how much the moderator tried to assert himself, Willard ignored him and ran roughshod over him time after time after time.

It seems he already has, he hasn't disproved the speculation:

Anthony Badami: Did Mitt Romney Commit a Federal Felony?

the one outstanding question that deserves to be asked during tonight's debate, but won't, is this: Did Romney participate in a 2009 IRS amnesty program for tax frauds?

For years, the IRS has had a policy that allows tax evaders holding money in off-shore accounts to come forward voluntarily to avoid jail time, on the condition they pay back taxes, in addition to interest and major penalties. Fewer than 100 people a year availed themselves of this privilege, that is, until 2008, when a whistleblower at a UBS branch in Switzerland told the IRS that thousands of American clients held unreported accounts in the overseas bank.

It would be easy enough to disprove, if he had nothing to hide...

Did you participate in a 2009 amnesty program for tax evasion, which, if the IRS wasn't feeling so generous, could have put you behind bars? If you didn't, will you show us your 2009 returns, including the FBAR?

I'm just asking.

At First Debate, Mitt Romney Admits That He Would 'Absolutely Not' Support His Own Tax Plan | ThinkProgress

Mitt Romney seemingly walked back his support of his own tax plan last night at the first presidential debate, telling President Obama and the American people that he would “absolutely not” support a plan that cuts taxes on the wealthy, raises taxes on the middle class, or adds to the federal budget deficit. Independent analyses have found that it is mathematically impossible for Romney’s plan, as written, to avoid either adding to the deficit or raising taxes on the middle class. And Romney himself said at a debate in February that he was “going to cut taxes on everyone across the country by 20 percent, including the top 1 percent.”

After President Obama cited a report from the Tax Policy Center showing that Romney’s plan couldn’t uphold his three principles, Romney said he would not support such a plan, then reiterated the same three principles:

So — so if — if the tax plan he described were a tax plan I was asked to support, I’d say absolutely not.

What a ...wiener.

They picked that guy so Obama could ramble on and not answer questions, it backfired.

Makin' shit up again, eddie? Lying seems to be a left wing stance these days. Shame on y'all.

Certainly did. Funny shit.

Post-Debate Hysteria : The Mudflats

So while Republican surrogates have at long last something to gloat about and left leaning pundits are having difficulty controlling their bodily functions on national television, it’s helpful to maintain a little perspective. Media outlets, regardless of their editorial bent, of course love this mass freakout because after months of boring “Mitt is imploding” narrative it’s nice to be able to report something different.

But when all the gloating is done and Chris Matthews has extinguished his hair, only one salient fact remains.

Mitt Romney has no credible path to 270 electoral votes, and the President has several.
