Will we torture again?

Waterboarding sure beats the hell out of real torture.

You know, removing fingernails, beating someone with barbed wire, attaching a battery to the balls. Real torture without a doctor on site.

Hell even our troops have been waterboarded.

No comparison at all.

How about chaining innocent people to a cold 45 degree concrete wall naked & hosing them down with 45 degree water & letting them freeze to death? Or breaking their legs & forcing them to stand on them until they die?

How about tax payers paying over $81 million tax-free to 2 psychologists to tell the CIA how to torture?

This is like saying shooting beats the hell out of real killings like strangulation.

"Can we now say with confidence that our government will not use torture again and that Americans in the future will rise up to prevent it from doing so? In light of the reaction to the Senate Intelligence Committee’s report, I fear that we can’t." Dionne Will we torture again The Salt Lake Tribune

Too many of our citizens do not understand that acting like AQ or the Gestapo or ISIS ISIL whatever makes us no different than AQ or the Gestapo or ISIS ISIL.

We will, and he should torture again. We just need to do it smarter, better. We should start torturing people by logging them into USMB and demanding that they keep posting until they've managed to convince Steve McGarrett that Obama is an American, or convince Franco that Obama is a Kenyan. And then just sit back and watch the subjects spill the beans.

Works for me.

Since it works for you to torture to death innocent people, how about we start with your family & friends as you are forced to watch, then finish by torturing you to death over several days?

Oh and these folks are innocent because you say they are??

Wonder how long it would take those innocent folks to murder you and your family??

The far right is in fear of its impending failure.

Fun to watch them tremble. It must be torture for them.

There is a difference in opinion as to what is torture or not and what is acceptable or not.

Is submitting someone to water-boarding, with a physician in attendance and no real risk of death 'torture'? Some say yes, and some say no. Some argue that by comparison to being beheaded, burned alive, or lowered under water locked in a cage to ensure you drown such an act as waterboarding is NOT.

Several years ago a commander in the field, trying to gain information about an ambush that would have resulted in the death of all the members of one of several teams he had sent out placed a pistol beside the terrorist's head, pulled the trigger, and blew out the man's eardrum...causing him to immediately divulge the information required to save the lives of his men. Some argue that there was no justification in doing so, even if it would have cost the lives of his men. Would the same people have argued such a point if it was one of their children whose lives were at stake? Would they REALLY be willing to sacrifice the life of their own son or daughter to prevent from causing the loss of hearing in a terrorist / enemy's ear? if the answer is no, does that mean then that the act was not torture or that it might be considered 'acceptable' under certain circumstances?

I am not sure if any of that matters, as I believe that no matter what we think...or know...such practices will (if not already are) being used in the future at some point. Americans have short-term memories and 'what they don't know won't hurt 'us'.'

Don't you think we should have a pretty good idea of that before we start torturing them?

Just out of curiosity, do you consider yourself a good Christian who sits in church every Sunday thinking you're going to heaven, while you sit here advocating treating other human beings this way?
