it will be almost impossible for Trump to fulfill his promise to bring back most of the assembly line gigs lost to globalization, economists say. The U.S. has moved toward advanced manufacturing, which employs highly educated people, and plants that once required manual labor are now manned by robots that work faster than people and cost less. U.S. factories are producing more than ever, with far fewer employees.

Since 2000, American manufacturers wiped 5 million people off their payrolls, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Millions of those jobs went to China or Mexico, research suggests.

For context, it took more than three decades for 560,000 mining jobs to disappear, after reaching a peak of 1.2 million the early 1980s.

Why Trump — or any other politician — can't do much to bring back manual labor jobs.

So, millions of the jobs still exist, just in Mexico and China?

So, why can't they come back?

Best to go bowling......gonna be all bumpy all the time!!

Why are you so unwilling to face reality.

It even gets worst, those corps that took your jobs away , will continue to make more money using labor from Mexico and China, and import Indians to displace 50 year old white collar jobs (cheaper)

and those who voted Rep (Trump) just gave the Pubs run of the land and you had better bet they are going to gobble you right up, all you middle income workers, median income in the US is in the mid 50's now,

oh they will make full time 40 hours now instead of 30 , so they can work one 39 hours a week and not pay bennies,

they also voted against a bill that salary workers would get overtime for over 47000 a year, now its in the low 20's.

The "poorly educated" are being laughed at by the Pubs and Trump organization. They are thinking "man how did a bit under half of Americans become so dumb and gullible?
