Why support Republicans?

You call making the public sector workers contribute to their own retirment and benefit packages cutting pay??

I guess not having to cut jobs for teachers, firefighters and Police was a bad thing? Hey. I hear they were able hire more teachers as well. God, Guess thats bad too. I also hear that the taxpayers are saving money. Again a bad thing.

WOW Whatever floats your boat there sparky.

Yes I call it that because that's what it was.

The state of Wisconsin stopped contributing to pensions and retirement plans for its workers. But, that money still has to get contributed from somewhere, so it's taken from the person's check and deposited. Therefore, less money on your check and less money to spend.

Ergo, pay cut.

Pay some of your benefits or lose your job cut and to the point.

No.

A state or city can borrow money to cover its obligations and not cut pay or lay people off. When the economy recovers, that debt can be paid down.

Will Wisconsin restore this pay cut when they run a surplus? No way!

Barrow money to pay a debt? That's about the most stupidest and irresponsible thing I have ever heard of.

Why sure!!! I use my VISA credit card to buy my groceries and make my mortgage payment. Right now my balance is sitting at about $50k........but just as soon as I land that dream job, I'm paying that sucker off.

It is irresponsible.

It's also not in any way what I said.

Bullshit there sparky. Your benefits are considered to be part of your pay package.

I guess it does kinda suck when you actually have to contribute to YOUR own benefit package.

Guess you could call it a pay cut but since your money is going to your benefit package to benefit you when you retire it seems rather silly to call it a pay cut.

As I said. Whatever floats your boat.

That's exactly what you said.

Except, it's not bull shit.

Prior to Walker, a teacher starting in WI would get $27,458 in compensation, broken down as follows:

$25,000 in paychecks annually
$1,450 in pension contributions annually
$1,008 in insurance premiums annually

After Walker, the state stopped paying premiums and pension, so the teacher must do it, and must do it from her paycheck. This is automatic. So now she gets:

$22,542 in paychecks annually
$1,450 in pension contributions annually
$1,008 in insurance premiums annually

What number dropped? Her paychecks. It dropped 9%.

She received a 9% pay cut.

That's exactly what you said.

Yup. Obligations like payroll and invoices from vendors.

Where did you see that I said borrow to re-pay debt?

That have made it their goal to do whatever they can to undermine Obama. And they admit it. Mitch McConnel said so, "the number one goal is to make sure Obama is a one term president". The Republicans took ACA to supreme court and lost. They won't take no for an answer. Now they're conspiring to kill it and also on state levels by having bills in congress to overturn it in the House even though they know it has no chance of passing in Senate. They would destroy the country to get their way. They exhibited this intention during the debt crisis. Similar to Newt Gangrene during Clinton presidency.

Republicans act like little children who, if they don't get their way, will throw tantrums or take the baseball out of the game and go home. So, the question is, specifically, what has a republican ever done to make your life better?

Oh, by the way. How is the stock market doing now, compared to when Bush left? You think it would be doing so well if Obama were a socialist, which he's not?

i love posts like this, i print it off for other dems to read and they just join the Repulican party in a heartbeat.

If you believe is less Government,Capitalism and freedom, you vote for Repubs.
If you believe in big huge government, anti capitalism and no freedom you vote for Dems.

Recent history has proven that both parties believe in big huge government, corporate cronyism and will try and take our rights away. Both parties are tax and spend. The difference is where they spend.

When something is owed it's a debt. When someone works for you, you are indebted to them for the hours owed them..

Ergo, A debt.

 Charlie Brown's teacher ......Obama not a socialist ......undermine Obama?
 hasn't he done that being divisive, secret, and criminal in fast n furious that's why support Republicans aside from the obvious stimulus corruption
