Why should a hamburger flipper make the same as a highly skilled worker???

The film features a secret army recording of communications on the day of the coup — played for Guzmán by a journalist imprisoned under Pinochet — which makes it clear that the General had decided on Allende’s death from the start. “If you kill the bitch, you get rid of the offspring,” Pinochet snarls to his commanders. The film is also a fascinating snapshot of evolving international human rights law and its application to nations torn by war or civil disorder, seeking both justice and reconciliation.

Communist thugs??? They were fucking peasants, writers, teachers.. Are you saying all supporters of socialism/communism deserve to die? Fucking sick.

That's how communist thugs always describe themselves while they are working to bring on the police state and put everyone in a gulag. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were just a couple of harmless innocent clerical workers, right?

Such judgments--expressed by mere Chileans--would not, however, spare the military the wrath of leftist political elites around the world. To counter the still existing well-armed and well-funded guerrilla and urban terrorist forces, the embattled government created, in 1974, a military intelligence agency which--before Mr. Pinochet disbanded it in 1978--would become a rogue elephant responsible for most of the human rights abuses. What is seldom spoken of is that most of the victims were terrorists. Before Fidel Castro sentenced him to 30 years in prison in 1989, Cuban Gen. Patricio de la Guardia bragged at his "trial" of his service in Chile during the Allende years. He said he had led part of an international para-military brigade--one that the Chilean government estimated to number about 15,000.

In June 1974, the Communist Party in Chile reiterated its doctrine that the right to use violence was "non-negotiable." But the talk of violence was muted for a time as the party attempted to gain political allies. In 1976, however, party ideologue Volodia Teitelboim in a Radio Moscow broadcast spoke of the need to "rethink the military problem," adding that Communists could not be "Gullivers bound hand and foot by legality."

On April 5, 1977, a group of cashiered Chilean military men in London announced the formation of a "Front of Democratic Armed Forces of Chile in Exile." A second such group was formed the same day in Brussels and a third shortly afterwards in Communist East Berlin. On April 6, a spokesman named Jaime Estevez said in a Radio Moscow broadcast that the purpose of these Soviet-backed entities was to lead the fight "for the overthrow of the fascist junta." In August of that year, the Central Committee of the Chilean Communist Party constituted itself as "The General Staff of Revolution."

In 1979, one month after the Sandinistas shot their way into power in Nicaragua, Chilean Communist Party Secretary General Luis Corvalan said Chile "could become the second Nicaragua." A month later, he warned that "if fascism is not eradicated. . . terrorism would find in Chile a wide open field for its action." A year later, from his Moscow refuge, Corvalan proclaimed a new era of "acute violence." Corvalan endorsed guerrilla warfare, terrorism and a massive armed uprising.

By 1986, increasingly legalized political activity in Chile was gathering momentum in preparation for what would be free elections in 1988. Early that year, the military stumbled onto part of one of the largest clandestine arms shipments in the history of the hemisphere, enough to arm 5,000 men. It was traced to Cuba. That same year, a meticulously planned assassination plot involving 70 terrorists narrowly missed killing Gen. Pinochet; five of his escorts were murdered.
No where does this article back up anything you say about the ones he executed, and ask yourself, why do you think they're wanting to fight pinochet, you fucking moron? You're a fucking nut job who needs to go to an actual gulag.

They want to fight him for the same reason that communists everywhere want to fight governments that support capitalism: they're communists. A lot of them were in the pay of the Cuban or Soviet government. The rest were home grown scumbags.

Enslaving people is what communists do.

Let me just squash this thread/topic that has gone on way too long. It's called, "Supply and Demand" Capitalism.

Voting for wages is exactly what Socialism is. Sadly Socialism works through politicians who represent the people. Crazy how that doesn't work with Capitalism either.

Imagine a day where people can vote directly on issues. YOU KNOW people would pay more attention to politics.

Watching America try to control wages they don't work for is fun to watch.

True. Communism, unfortunately perhaps, doesn't work. Never been tried either lol...

We Americans don't even know the difference between Socialism, Communism, Capitalism and The Welfare State.

Some of us do, not many.

As it turns out the very same 1% "profit over humanity" is the corruption in all of those.

Communism is simply, "A government that owns Industry and Controls Industry". Nothing more. Dictatorships love Communism. I'll assume the readers can guess why.

Communism is the theory that there are ample supplies of everything and we should all have some. Capitalism is the theory that we can all have a shirt but it might not have a brand name that makes you significantly cooler than the other person without the ability to get that item.

I state this KNOWING the public think Socialism means "everyone earns the same wage" which is a scare tactic Capitalists use to keep people from discussing this issue.

I believe Capitalism can be fixes. But to deny our flaws is idiotic

^I know (R)ight!

It's a society that believes there are more shirts than backs. A society that has more food than bellies. A society with more houses than homeless. Divorced Fathers don't have extreme child support due to 1% Lawyers.

While taunting American statistics I agree (and laughing). It's a proven failure under Dictatorship Tyranny law.

I'm glad the Rich people in America don't run our Capitalism like Nations of the past where "Kingdoms" were where the rich few gathered the belongings of all the Citizen workers and such. That would be terrible (R)ight?

"Democratic" is what you read on the forums. "Democratic" is the words of the people and not just the words in a specific State.

I don't believe minimum wage should be $15 an hour (OMG THE DRAMA)

Jeez. NAFTA happened, Corporations went over sea's, our products became trash. I believe a statistic I once read said, "17% of McDonalds workers are in or completed college".

I can't imagine why McDonalds workers are just now demanding worth lol. Crazy easy stuff.

Only communists and liberals claim that Nazi's were capitalists because most of industries in Nazi Germany appeared to be left in private hands.

Uh, they were absolutely left in Private hands. the thing about the NSDAP was that around 1933, Hitler made the decision to be the tools of big German industrialists like the Krupp family. guys who wanted more war because that was good for business.

Part of the price for that was purging guys like Roehm and Strasser out of the party. Once Hitler did that on the NIght of the Long Knives, the big Industrialists were all good with Hitler, as was the Military.
